"It was an absolute delight to stay with Nathalie and Olivier who have lovingly restored the Chateau. They were charming hosts and made the stay one to remember. The renovation of the chateau provides a modern and spacious room that has also retained the charm of the old building. The meals were delightful and prepared by the hosts using fresh local produce. I'd thoroughly recommend Malis Castera to anyone wanting to stay in the wine region."

"Fantastic experience at a gorgeous chateau! Pros: • Stunning, eel maintained property with courteous staff and excellent service. • Beautiful rooms—the balcony had incredible vineyard views. • World-class spa treatments (some of the best I've ever had!). • Great location near Saint-Émilion with e-bike rentals and a hotel shuttle. • Easy day trips to Bordeaux (45–60 mins away) via hotel-arranged transport. • Gourmet dining on-site. Cons: • Room service options are a bit limited. Tip: Book your restaurant and terrace tables well in advance, especially for weekends. Overall, a wonderful stay!"

"This is a rustic, two bedroom cottage property about a 35 minute walk (uphill!) to St Emilion old town. Located in the the vineyards, it's fine if you have a bicycle or similar. It's only 5 mins by car but then you have parking to deal with in the town. It's on a slightly dusty track to don't arrive in heels or immaculate white clothing. Warmly welcomed by Hassan, his wife and daughter, I was shown the shared downstairs area and my room. They do not live on the property. No elevator obviously so hope your bag is light (mine wasn't!). Rooms are pleasant and have good air conditioning. Hassan offers wine for sale and Dinner is available if you want. It's a Moroccan themed dinner but I didn't try it myself. I was asked to change rooms when here when another guest arrived that needed two beds (Hassan had given me the room with multiple beds) which I wasn't very happy about to be honest but it was a relatively small inconvenience I suppose. Breakfast is available for 8 euros and it's OK but TBH pretty basic. Everything worked out fine for my two night stay. If I were to offer any suggestions it might be to clean and redecorate the downstairs area which feels a little cluttered (There's a drumset in the corner if you're so-inclined!!). Overall, I'd score it 6.75/10. It was fine as long as you're not expecting somewhere shiny and new feeling."

"This property is a 2 minute drive from a wonderful bakery and only 10 or so Minutes from St. Emilion. We were given maps and suggestions on where there was free parking, a lovely restaurant in a nearby town and pamphlets and local information in English. There is a beautiful pool and yard with bistro tables but we were too busy to enjoy them. Thank you for a lovely stay!"

Stairs to bedrooms a bit much if you’re infirm. Lovely pool and garden area for outside eating,Cynthia, who looks after the property is delightful."

"This is a charming spot in the wine country yet walkable to town. The owner is very kind and helpful with any questions or issues. It was super hot during our trip and the A/C was very good. We loved our room. Very comfy. The whole rental property was a mix of old world charm and modern decor and amenities. It is a very old property that the owners have redone making several units. It is incredibly well maintained. Breakfast was served in the patio area and is delicious."

"Ch Haut-Brisson must be the best kept secret in all of the Bordeaux area! It is situated just a short 7 minute drive to the Medievel town center, it is not far from Pomerol, Lalande de Pomerol, and other nearby bordeaux villages. The rooms were recently renovated, are clean, very well kept, and the place happens to be a well known winery with Grand Cru designation. This coupled with the passionate and hospitable staff, made our stay unforgettable! Gabriella is a Sommelier and will answer any question about wine as well as the winery, she also provided very useful information about the Village and what to see. Iris is a genius in the kitchen, she whipped up a fantastic breakfast in no time, our only regret is that we did not stay at this wonderful place for a longer period. When we return to the St Emilion area, we will definitely plan to stay at Ch Haut-Brisson!"
