I reserved here because it had great reviews, but as soon as I arrived I told my husband this doesn’t have a good impression outside, but we continued to check in. The staff assistant was nice though. We went on the elevators and they looked dirty but proceeded to the room. The hallway was also dirty but what did it was when we got to the room, it smelled like smoke although it said it was a smoke free building. In addition, the lobby had air fresheners that were so strong that it made me sick. It was almost as if trying to disguise the smell. Anyways, I couldn’t stay there and requested a cancellation and refund, which they did.

The staff was amazing. Everyone was very friendly and were able to assist us if any questions arose. Breakfast was great as well & the staff preparing it did a good job. My only issue with this hotel, is that it needs a little maintenance. We were in Room 416. Example, our breaker tripped twice (reason unknown), the toilet was loose on the floor and the shower handle was very loose and no seal to keep water from going all over the floor. The step in the shower was about broken so we did not use it. Otherwise we had a nice stay, our room was clean and had issues other than the maintenance issues that seem to come with an older hotel.

The property was no more than 30 minutes from all that we did during our stay in Charleston from the airport sightseeing downtown, an event at City Hall, a Luncheon and Work Shop and our visit to Sommerville. The property was well maintain and included a fridge, microwave, stove , dishes and utensils There was also a daily complimentary hot/cold breakfast

The front desk staff was incredible! They were so friendly and outgoing. I felt like I met 2 new friends before we left. The only criticism is that rooms weren't cleaned daily. We had a rather large pile of dirty towels before they came to clean. However, when she did come in, she did fantastic cleaning job.

Such a great place to stay The separate bedrooms and doors make it great for sharing in a group. It’s like a mini apartment and the pool was cute

The room was very comfortable. A bit of wear & tear on the furniture and carpet but the overall room was nicely decorated and cleaned. Had issue with upstairs neighbor treading on the floor at night. Noisy people. But this hotel was very nice. We’ll stay there again next time, with a good price offer.

Pros: Good location, clean facilities, comfortable bedding, good size refrigerator, stove, cookware in the room, and coffee available all day long and into the evening. Cons: People walking their dogs through the breakfast/table area, dogs on the third floor when supposed to be only on the first and second floors, and poor front desk staff handling of an upset guest who had a heavy urine smell in her room and there were no other rooms available. They seemed to suggest that it was her problem, not Marriott's.

The area was fine. The first room all the lights went out and they couldn’t get it fixed. The second room the air/heat didn’t work. The 3rd room the tv had this blue hue to everything. So I liked the room, the staff were friendly, just wished everything actually worked.

Very pleasant staff onsite.
We had to change rooms because the heat didn’t work. Although a little irritating after we had half-unpacked, the staff made it very easy. Overall i haven’t met a more helpful or pleasant group of hospitality workers in very long time. Everyone, from front desk to dining room to housekeeping was above the norm.

I stay with in the two room suite for Christmas vacation. 2 adults 3kids best experience in hotel every. They gave us snacks at checkin. the kitchen was fully furnished. you could borrow anything from rice cookers to board games. The breakfast was delicious everyday even on Christmas morning. Overall great stay

Room was clean and spacious. Fully stocked. Television worked good, no issues with internet like some places. Staff while respectful and cordial.. no one goes out of their way to say hello or ask if you need anytime. Cleaning staff does not speak at all. While these are not deal breakers, they still are important for feeling welcome. The person doing my check in, barely looked up at me as she asked questions. Again, she was nice but not friendly. Not a complaint just an observation. Loved the breakfast choices, don't get grits much at hotels. But also noted one morning I went in later and some things showed evidence of being tougher under the heart longer, like the potatoes. But still a good breakfast.

Out of this world service!
Everything about this place was amazing. Every staff member was wonderful and friendly. We were in town for my sons' surgical procedure and they made us feel welcome and ensured we were comfortable. 10/10! We will definitely be staying again in the future.

The staff at this hotel made this stay for us. From the lady at the front desk switching rooms to downstairs since I just had surgery & the breakfast staff offering help since I couldn’t walk while smiling and making our family feel welcome. Absolutely incredible staff

We stayed here for a volleyball tournament. Driving to the coliseum was about 8 minutes away and was easy to get to. Great customer service at the hotel. Great breakfast and clean rooms.
