This house was great. Beautiful throughout and had everything we needed for our stay. Perfect location and the hosts were attentive and responsive. Highly recommend!
The house was very cute and clean. The beds were comfortable and the showers had good water pressure. It was very accessible and there were great coffee shops and restaurants nearby.
This home was amazing, the location was perfect. Historic beauty inside and out. Cleanliness was perfection and the beds were a dream!!!! Just book it, you won’t be sorry!!! Make some memories!
Great property with everything you need. Very clean and super responsive owners. The best part about this property is the convenience to King Street and to downtown Charleston. We had a wonderful 3 days.
The Swanhouse was a perfect stay! The hosts had amazing communication, the property was just as pictured and in the most incredible location! We hosted family over Thanksgiving and it felt so homey comfortable. I would highly recommend the Swanhouse and we can’t wait to stay here again!
Amazing location for access to King Street and most importantly Chubby Fish! Very cozy space for game nights at the end of a long day and enjoyed all the nearby coffee shops and love Holey Bagel nearby as well.
Pretty, nicely appointed upstairs apartment. Great little spots to eat nearby. As other reviewers have mentioned, parking is very tight and the living room could use another comfortable spot to sit.
LOVED our stay at the house! Clean, comfortable, close access to everything. Our favorite girls getaway location so far!! Home is exactly as described. Host was very responsive, gave many great tips before we arrived. Wouldn’t change a thing!!
Well equipped, clean, attractive apartment right across the street from one of Charleston’s best restaurants. 3 minute walk to an awesome coffee shop. Walkable to King Street too. The shower in one of the baths wasn’t working. Having the second full bath saved us. The property manager said it will be repaired for the next guests. Other than that it was a great stay!
Location was great as we could walk to visitor center and downtown from Swan House. We didn’t want to rent a car. Neighborhood grocery stores were handy for few essentials we needed.
Rental was clean and had everything we needed.
Property Manager helpful and timely with info.
Clean and quiet, exactly what I needed after playing in four games ice hockey games over 2 days. Perfect location near the top of Kings St, walkable or quick Uber ride to all Charleston has to offer
This apt looked even better than the pictures! Beautiful design touches throughout gave a very up scale feel. The kitchen was better equipped than most non-rental kitchens and we were sad to not use it more! The private off street parking was a definite plus given its great walkability to downtown Charleston. Would absolutely recommend!
We enjoyed the house. We would have liked to have had a more mirrors or a full length mirror. The missing tile for the attic access was a little concerning. Great location.
The Swan House is exactly as described. Upstairs unit in a historic Charleston home near the University of Charleston. We either walked or took the free shuttle around town. Very convenient. The apartment has been tastefully updated and is very well stocked with everything one needs. The kitchen is the best equipped I’ve ever experienced in a vacation rental. I highly recommend Swan House and would stay there when I have the opportunity to visit Charleston again.
A lovely, well-equipped and thoughtfully designed home
We had a great time in the Swan House. The interior design is beautiful, and all the little things that really matter are done well. Nice linens, good mattresses, great kitchen and bathrooms, plus things not all VRBO owners provide, including toiletries, charging stations next to each bed, extra fans and the like. The neighborhood is transitional, which is common in the Charleston area given high real estate costs closer to the main attractions of the historic district. That said, we felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood, found several local gems, including a great wine bar/book shop called Philosophers & Fools, plus a store called Provisions something - forgot the name - that has lovely little treats to stock the kitchen.
The Swan house was a GREAT location for us. We were able to walk to King Street and enjoy the attractions on King Street. The apartment was neat and clean and had many amenities as described. (Salt and Pepper shakers would have been nice to be included in the kitchen......) It fit our needs adequately. My only complaint was that there were no extra towels, so we had to do laundry for our week stay. There was a nice washer and dryer, so this was NOT difficult. I also was not aware that we were on the upper level of this home. Perhaps I missed this in the VRBO description, but there are significant stairs to be climbed to enter your apartment. We are middle aged folks, so carrying our luggage up the stairs was not the easiest. Overall, a very nice stay and we were pleased with our purchase.

The Swan House was a charming 2nd story floor that worked great for our family of 5. It was very clean and kitchen was well stocked. Communication was very good from the management company. You will need to be able to climb one flight of stairs. Very good handrails on the stairs. Some things you need to be aware of… 1. Parking is TIGHT and only one car allowed (so goes most all of Charleston). If you drive anything larger than a midsize SUV you are going to have issues. We had two vehicles and 2.5 days at the parking deck cost a lot more than expected when I picked up the car. Other things to be aware of are traffic and construction. Neither affected our visit, but you should know. The road the house is on is the main one way (northbound) road to 17 / 26. The bedrooms are on the back of the house and road noise was not an issue for us, but it’s a busy street. Construction nearby begins at 7-7:30. This week they were pounding down pillars with a crane and that pounding went on all day. In all fairness you can hear that pounding 5 blocks away, but it’s still a reality. We walked to King Street and City Market with no issue from the house. All the way to the Battery would be a pretty long hike, but there are free DASH shuttles that can help get you around if needed. Closest pick up is Spring Street about 3-4 blocks away. Over all it felt like a good value for what was available in Charleston.
Management was very accommodating on our earlier than expected arrival. Home was clean and comfortable. My sister, girlfriend and I each enjoyed our own bedrooms. We ubered to all our evening meals but walked in the morning/afternoon to local shops and neighborhoods. FIG was our favorite dining spot.
