We named it the RATHERSHACK because you'd rather be here than anyplace else in the world. We are 'second row' from the beach - which means a 45 second walk for you slow pokes, or 30 seconds for the average beach bum. The cottage we are advertising and scheduling here is the 2 BR 1.5 bath, this one is called the BeachShack. Lots of charm and beach feel decor at no extra charge as this unit has all new beach-style furnishings, flooring, paint, new roof, and new air conditioning installed. All cottages have open floor plans for casual gatherings after your day at the beach. This Unit has a fully stocked kitchen utensils etc with microwave and dishwasher. The 2 BR features a large master with a queen bed and the second bedroom has a full bed, plenty of changing room. Super clean no allergens pet dander etc as we do not allow pets. Units have Free TV, Smart TV and WIFI. Off Street parking for 1 vehicles included. . Gas grill on site available for you grill masters out there. Riding bikes is one of our favorite things to do around around here, and look at all the sugar shacks, moderate homes, and homemade fishing piers plopped right next to the occasional McMansion. Architectural variety on every block. Folly Beach makes no judgment on who you are or where you come from...just bring your flip flops and come as you are.

Relax and enjoy

We drove down not sure what to expect, but found a clean cute cottage. The beach was close by with towels, lawn chairs included. Short walk to shop, eat and even go to church.

Family Vacation

This property was absolutely perfect. We were in town for graduation and wanted to be close to the ocean but have one member of our party that cannot do a lot of stairs or a lot of walking. This property was ground level with a few stairs in and only a block off the beach, so easy access. The perfect property for our stay!

Love this place!

Everything about this cottage is great. Very clean and up to date appliances was nice. The decor is absolutely adorable and the best part is the beach is just 1 block away. The owners really thought of everything from beach chairs, beach towels, etc.. I will definitely stay here again!

Hotel like accommodations

Beautiful property with only short 3min walk to beach. The beds were very comfy and we loved the covered patio area. We enjoyed our stay and Katt was an excellent host. Check in and out procedures were a breeze. The only thing we wished we would have had at the property was a second TV. Highly recommend as a great beach house!

I took my Mom to the Beach Shack to celebrate her 75th birthday! We loved our trip! The house is decorated so cute and it is very clean. It is an excellent location, close to the beach and shops. I enjoyed the bikes, umbrella, towels and beach chairs! Sam and Kat were wonderful, we are looking forward to returning real soon!

Katt was a fantastic host! The house was super clean, convenient to local restaurants, and a two minute walk to the beach. You can’t really ask for much more than that! We will definitely be back.

Loved the Beach Shack.

BeachShack was wonderful! Loved the location. Very tastefully decorated! It was perfect for the 3 of us. We definitely would stay there again if we’re in this area! Thanks for sharing your BeachShack with us! The only negative is water pressure & temperature of water when taking a shower but this was discussed with property manager & was assured she will take care of this!!

A clean, refreshing vacation

The listing leaves nothing to the imagination, it's clean and beautiful and just enough space for my two young daughters, myself and my mother in law. It was the perfect girl vacation. Off the main drag enough that it was quiet at night but still easy to walk to any restaurant. The beach was the perfect distance to be able to come and go from the beach and a short 15 minutes to Charleston. It had plenty of towels, kitchen necessities and space for what we needed. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll be back!

No place we'd RATHER be.

My husband and I and our 2 children (boy 16 and girl 14) loved the Rathershack. Everything in the home was updated and beachy. It was impeccably clean. We loved that we could walk to Center Street and the restaurants, shops and pier. Katherine and Sam could not have been nicer. Kat was always available but never intrusive. She gave us at ideas of things to do while we were in Folly.We will definitely stay there again when we go Folly.

Beach Shack

We loved this house and our stay at Folly Beach. The house was clean and so cute! Two things to keep in mind are the driveway is shared so someone's car, in addition to yours, will be in front of that cute covered garage/patio area the whole time. The other thing is that the outdoor shower has no door and has generously spaced boards so you can't really use it as an extra shower like we usually do at the beach. That said, it's a great house and area. We would definitely rent this place or from Katt again.

Perfect way to start summer

Katt -- thank you for a lovely 3-day get away in Folly Beach. For some reason, I had the impression that Folly was a loud party beach but that was not the case at all. We loved our time exploring the side streets, restaurants, and being outside. Your cottage was perfect for us as a family of 4 for a short visit. Everything we needed was right there --simple and basic but very thoughtful. I appreciate your personal generosity -- I hope we will be back again. Let us know if you are in Boone -- would love to show you the same hospitality. Bring your SUP if you come the mountains and I will tell you about some lovely places to paddle. Susan

Had everything we needed and close to the beach

We loved this property. It had everything we needed for a family to cook Thanksgiving dinner at the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials, plus many nonessential. Beds and furniture was comfy. The only thing we missed was a dining table. We love to play family games and found that challenging, but doable. It is very close to the beach and the awesome Burt’s Market, which we love. I walked there every morning for free coffee. It is a long walk to Center street, but I love to walk so no problem for me, but could be challenging for older folks or kids. We didn’t use the outside shower or beach chairs and umbrellas, but would be handy in the summer time. We have been visiting Folly for many years and stayed in many rentals. This rental was great because of all the attention to details. We loved the decor, well stocked kitchen and proximity to the beach. We hope to stay here again soon!!

Super cute, very clean and incredibly convenient! We had never been to Folly Beach before but this property didn’t disappoint! It had everything we never knew we needed. The beach is a literal 45 second walk from the property which was fantastic with a 2 year old. Highly recommend!

Great beach access!

Katt was a very responsive host and the cottage was just as advertised. The only surprise was that the outdoor shower isn’t meant for anything except rinsing off sand. Otherwise, a perfectly sized cottage for 4, if two of your party are small. Fantastic beach access and not too far from the action on Center Street.

Anniversary Awesomeness w/ a Beachy twist

Definitely recommend this property. What a quaint little place. Perfectly located with a short walk to the beach. Everything was as described by the owner. On this adventure we stayed most of our time on the island. Everything you need is right there. We will definitely be back (our 4th trip to Charleston but 1st staying on the island). If, If I had to say anything in the somewhat negative...it would be that this place needs a washer/dryer, because if you stay 6 nights like we did, it would be nice to not have to go anywhere else to wash your clothes. Trust me, that was not a deal breaker. You will not be disappointed by booking this 2 bedroom house. Enjoy!!
