The staff was very friendly. I forgot an item that I left in my room. The staff member that answered the phone gladly went to the room (the top floor) and recovered it for me so I could pick it up when returning home.

I was having surgery so I couldn't have breakfast but my husband went down and breakfast was being served and he said everything was good and hot. As for the staff, not impressed. She was taking a reservation on the phone and didn't bother to say I'll be right with you and when she got off the phone didn't apologize for my wait. She didn't tell me which way our room was or anything else we should know except the wi-fi was our room number. She wasn't rude just very dry. She also should use her manners. The icing on the cake was the fact that I had to pay $11.76 to park in the motel parking lot after I paid $168.00 for a room. If it were a parking garage I could understand but, come on, in the parking lot of the motel. I've never paid to park in a motel parking lot before. I expected so much more from a Hampton Inn especially in a big city like Charleston. I have several doctors appointments there and because we have a 2 hour drive it is sometimes necessary to stay overnight but I'm sorry I won't be staying at the Hampton Inn.
