"While the hotel is older, the room was clean and functional. The staff made the stay, and the restaurants were great.
The staffing made the stay. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. Will definitely return. "
"The hotel is super pricey as compared to the staff services and amenities. First in the heat there is no direct way to find the reception from parking. Then There were 4 people at front desk but no one was picking calls for about an hour. They even charged us twice and we had to dispute charges with CC as usual no call picking. Overall services does not do justice to the price you are paying. "
"This is an older motel, restaurant, and gas station property with an RV park across the road. It is inside Death Valley NP, a long way from anywhere.
That said, everything is a long way from anywhere in Death Valley.
The motel has about 15 rooms. The driveway and the grounds are all gravel. If you're looking for a high class getaway, this is not it.
HOWEVER, this little gem was exactly right for our needs. The room was basic, but clean. The shower was large with good water pressure. The a/c unit was small but worked great. Ours was a trip of three friends, and they actually had a room with three queen beds. The restaurant was quite good for being the only thing for 50 miles either direction. The gas station has basic food and sundries for sale and the gas, though expensive, was not as expensive as it could be, again being the only has for many, many miles.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. The restaurant staff was great, especially Dwight who I think has between there a long time. After we ate they let us keep the table for several hours to play card games. And the food was quite good.
Don't expect a pampered, luxurious stay. But as a base to explore Death Valley, it was plenty sufficient with all the basic needs one would need. We stayed three nights and would do it again."
Panoramic and solitary views of the Badwater Basin and Panamint Valley, especially stunning at sunset, offer rewards at the end of a washboard-like drive.
You can spend time exploring the galleries in Goldwell Open Air Museum during your travels in Death Valley. While you're here, you can savour the top-notch restaurants.
