"It's easy to stay at a generic box type hotel.
The Strand has pedigree (See Raffles and E&O). It's a beautiful building with high ceilings. Beautifully decorated and clean. Very pleasant staff. Quiet and tranquil.
Stay here for your first visit to Yangon, and you can always stay at a generic, branded hotel on a subsequent visit."

"they are having standard room like rats box, no windows. When I asked for room with windows, they try to charge me extra 10$, finally I pay 5$ overcharge. Avoid at any cost, around are plenty of similar hotels with lower prices."

"The area was nice as it was off in it's own corner away from the busy downtown streets, was no issue getting a Grab to go anywhere as well. Staff was always nice and inviting and there was a piano they allowed you to play in the bar area. The bar/club downstairs was interesting but the music they played was extremely loud so we had to sit far in the back away to hear/talk to people."
"This is my first stay at Excelsior. I have a fondness for Myanmar heritage hotels. The welcome was seamless and friendly. The room is very clean. I like the firm pillow and comfortable bed. Overall, the room was well equipped. This property is highly value-for-money recommended. I shall come back again.
