"The Briar Resort is very charming & quaint. It has a lot of history & character. We had an excellent salmon dinner our first night & daily breakfasts were good. It was disappointing that the pool & hot tub were not working. There were no spa services available. No communication in advance by the resort or Expedia was given about this."

"Overall, this cottage was wonderfully situated on Lake Simcoe with a multi-level deck including a walkout dock. Additionally, the view and sunsets were amazing. There are a few items that do need to be addressed since they were advertised as functional prior to arrival:- Some dining chairs broken- Not enough dishes, cups, mugs- No measuring cups- Oven not working (was being repaired when we left).- Unusable frying pans- Outdoor perimeter of house needs a thorough cleaning, inlcuding BBQ. - Most jets in hot tub do not work. - most beds only included a box soring and mattress topper; need to upgrade to full mattressesThe only other point of concern is the CN train that runs several times per day and overnight, and is situated about 50 ft from the front door. It can be interferent at first, but I'm guessing most people who live in the neighbourhood get used to it. Despite the need for these improvements, we had a wonderful and fun time at this cottage and would recommend itnonce the above-mentioned issues are resolved."

"We only stayed one night but it was exactly as described. Very peaceful and comfortable. The host was easy to deal with, excellent communication and quick to respond. We hope to stay again in the future for a longer period to take advantage of the amenities i.e. the meet and great with the horses"
