Podere La Casa, Cavriglia, Arezzo and Cortona

Cradled by the Chianti hills, Podere La Casa is a peaceful retreat cloaked in countryside. Yet, the location is deceptive. An easy 800m walk from this quiet spot is the bustling town of Cavriglia and you’re just 10 minutes’ drive from the road that connects Florence to Arezzo and the promise of irresistible sightseeing. Turn inland to wind your way to the historic towns of Gaiole and Radda, calling by wineries to choose something special from the surrounding vineyards to go with dinner.

Yet take time out to just enjoy your surroundings, too. Podere La Casa is perfect for groups of four adults and one young child, so you might be surprised to find that the kidney-shaped pool with its generous wraparound sundeck and gazebo, plus two stretches of lawn, one with a barbecue, are just for your party to enjoy.



The inviting shaded terrace that lines the front of the house is likely to be a popular place to relax. Inside there are two good-sized bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms, and a small single for the child. A well-equipped kitchen, large enough for a dining table, sits at the heart of the property, and there’s a lounge area, too. The simple modern décor offsets traditional Tuscan touches such as the tiled and beamed ceilings and terracotta floors. It's both a comfy and well-connected villa, the best of both worlds.
