About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Modern Conversion, Stone Barn in a small village in the vineyards of Languedoc

You can also spend your holiday here relaxing in the peace and tranquillity on the edge of a tiny hamlet of Caunettes en Val surrounded by vineyards, with the foothills of the Pyrenees nearby. A few tractors and cars pass by each day, but normally, the only sound you’ll hear will be the wide range of birds around. Inside, it is comfortably spacious. You can sit outside at the back overlooking the vineyards and mountains eating, drinking or just relaxing. You can also sit out at the front where you can watch a tiny part of the world go by. There are plenty of places to visit and things to do in the area and lots of very rewarding walks and bike rides in and around the village. As you would expect, the local food and wine are excellent, both to have at home and to eat out. Due to a beautiful mezzanine balcony, this accommodation is not suitable for toddlers or lively older children, particularly if they like climbing! We request that guests do not smoke inside the house. You will need the use of a car in this location.

Pleasant barn conversion
Enjoyed our stay , very well equipped kitchen, everything here you could need in a holiday let, comfy bed, stairs to mezzanine quite steep and access to terrace quite precarious. Barn in a small hamlet, town of Lagrasse nearby is lovely to cycle too. Lots of info available in the accommodation.

Idyllic escape to the country
Great Barn in a small hamlet. People who live in Caunettes en Val are welcoming and ensured that we felt part of their community. The Barn itself is perfect for 2/3 people and has everything that you need. Caunettes en Val is great base for exploring the region. A satnav is essential. Wines , cheeses and honey made by locals are well worth discovering and enjoying!

Cozy, Comfortable ...Perfect Quiet Spot Not Too Far Removed
We had a wonderful time here & the added bonus was having an outstanding winemaker as a neighbour. The village is very friendly & hospitable. Thanks to Julie for taking good care of us. The Gite is cozy, comfortable & the kitchen is well equipped with all that you need to enjoy your stay. Caunettes-en-Val is close enough yet far enough away - so lunch and coffees in Lagrasse, groceries in Lezignan, market in Narbonne, & wineries everywhere! So you can enjoy the peace and quiet of the village & village life will happen around you or you can explore to your hearts content what this area of France has to discover. We must give a special thanks to our neighbour Sandrine who made our stay that much more enjoyable - her passion for wine making was certainly evident in the wines that she produces....cautions....bedroom is loft so there are stairs to navigate....otherwise a great spot for couples looking for a peaceful getaway with some adventures to enjoy.

Nice house with some comments
The house was nice. However the advertisement was really misleading as there were no comfortable sun chairs on the terras and the outside table was not horizontal so your glass would move off. Furthermore there was no dish washer, no dryer, no CD player and no coffee machine. The shower was really old and the shower door couldn't be closed. Also, it was not comfortable during heavy rain as the roof wasn't fully waterproof and at 4 spots chairs and floor became wet. In addition the windows in the bedroom area didn't have curtains so you would wake up too early from daylight. Having said this, the communication with the owner was very good. We were really happy with the offered opportunity to use the WIFI at her house in case needed. In addition the local representative was very friendly and although our arrival was a little confusing, everything worked out well! Overall our stay was good at this quiet location in a very nice village!
