Our third visit to Crofts Cottages. A warm, cosy cottage with everything you need for a great getaway. Clean and well furnished with a lovely open fire. The kitchen has everything you need for cooking plus a washing machine and dishwasher if you are feeling lazy. There is lots to do in the vicinity and you can spot Red Kites all around. The local town of Castle Douglas is thriving with a lot more shops and cafes opening since our last visit .It is a very peaceful spot but with a lot to do and see within a short distance and the local pubs and restaurants are good.

Lovely warm cottage with privacy located in landscaped gardens great for hobbits! Very quiet and cot
Lovely warm cottage with privacy located in landscaped gardens great for hobbits! Very quiet and cottage very clean with nice touches like fresh dish towels some basic condiments and firewood provided to start you off. I took my dog Marley but you can t let your dog run free as livestock very close by but was nt a problem for me as I always keep him on a lead in public spaces. Get a reasonable phone signal strong enough to use phone as hotspot for your laptop which I did. Loads to do in area but expect to drive as we went all over including Threave gardens, Sandyhills, Southerness, Castle Douglas etc etc. Highly recommend

We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in this delightful cottage.
We thoroughly enjoyed our short break in this delightful cottage. It contained everything that we needed (or might need). The situation is guaranteed to provide a restful holiday and is especially attractive for all wild-life fans. Red deer visited the side of the cottage and the roof provided a rest place for the fledgling swifts. Near enough to Castle Douglas for the shops and 25 minutes away from Moniaive and our favourite Italian Restaurant. This is a place that we'll be back to,
