"I had a really lovely stay. It was quiet and peaceful. The room was clean, water bottles in the mini refrigerator were super cold and that was nice to have after a long day of riding. Free wifi and a good selection of programs to watch on tv. I am a Veteran and I love that the property is Veteran owned. I intend to come back for a longer stay to explore the area. This was my first trip to Wisconsin but not my last. Thank you very much!"

"This motel appeared to have been bought by a family from India. They were anxious to help and do things. I suspect the previous owners had not kept it up and they are doing a good job of fixing things. Attached to the motel is a bridge that takes you to a great spot to watch the sunrise. There are no restaurants close but are several across the bridge."

"Cozy little cabin, clean and decorated cute. It was easy to find and near all the things we needed it to be. Host was very kind when I had to contact them after my stay because I left a sentimental item behind. They found it and returned it to me quickly which was much appreciated. Would stay here again if I'm in the area."

"This is a fun 1800s feel space. Lots of room. The location is great as it is on Main St. so you can walk to coffee, shopping and is across from a fun Tiki Bar right on the river. The train tracks are across the street as well so if you are a train buff, it adds to the appeal. Hosts were very responsive ,helpful and kind. It’s close to other fun places in the area as well. The second bedroom has a cut sink and mirror which helps as there is only one bathroom - but that bathroom is beautiful with a footed tub and a separate rain shower. Lots of character in this first floor unit and made for a great weekend!"

"This was a beautiful location and a great house full of period pieces yet very livable. The beds were very comfortable and McGregor is a gem. We had a wonderful time and definitely want to return. The host was quick with replies to all my questions and the stay was amazing."

"The American House is vintage in all the best ways. There is so much cool history associated with it and that is very visible in the suite, but it has all of the modern amenities you’d ever want or need. The place is huge and easily slept our family of 5. The train tracks are right in front of the building, and the trains go by quite often. They don’t last long, and Sara has generously provided ear plugs for those who might need them to sleep. No one in our group ended up needing them. The location is spectacular! It is located right in the heart of McGregor, which is an adorable river town. Check out Paper Moon as soon as you can upon arrival…it is one of the coolest stores around. For anything you can’t find in McGregor, Prairie du Chien is less than 10 minutes away and is a nice town."

"Great location. Very responsive and helpful host. The house is a bit dated but had a stocked kitchen with cookware that did not dissapoint. Dont look too close at the drywall job and trim job. Otherwise, a really fun place to stay and room to spread out and relax. Excellent host, thanks for having us!"
