Mom’s Place: Cozy Lake Glenville Cabin

Mom’s Place is a 2-story cozy mountain cabin that sits high on a mountain top overlooking Lake Glenville with total privacy, yet just minutes from Cashiers, Glenville, Highlands, Sapphire and easy access to Lake Glenville. The large deck’s comfortable seating, charcoal grill, and umbrella table are irresistible for bbq’s and killer views!! Mom’s Place is decorated with cozy leather furniture, old tools, rustic design features and modern touches. All beds are fluffy and comfy!!

Guests will have the entire house and property

There is a $75 dog guest fee which you can pay thru various payment methods. Sorry, cats are not allowed due to people’s allergies.
- if bringing a dog, the dog must be well behaved, flea free, house trained and not a chewer or scratcher.
- There is a $75 one time fee for a dog guest.

- An 8% fee will be charged for a reservation cancellation to cover 2 credit card processing fee events

Our stay at Mom’s Cabin was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was cozy, spotless, and filled with warmth — you can tell it’s been cared for with love. The highlight was definitely the balcony overlooking beautiful Lake Glenville — the view was breathtaking at every hour of the day.We enjoyed peaceful mornings with coffee while watching the light dance on the water, and quiet evenings surrounded by nature’s calm. The cabin had everything we needed, from a well-equipped kitchen to comfortable beds, making it the perfect mountain retreat.The hosts were welcoming, responsive, and made sure every detail was perfect. We left feeling refreshed and grateful — Mom’s Cabin is a true hidden gem by Lake Glenville!

Great trip

This property worked out great for us. We were attending a family reunion with family staying one street over but we wanted to bring our dog so we could stay the whole time. The view was beautiful and we had a great time.

Perfect reprieve

We spent much of our time on the fabulous porch enjoying the view. (Our dog became weirdly Zen, gazing out for hours on end at the beautiful lake.) Such a nice setting for reading books, taking long walks, cooking on the Weber grill, watching some Netflix. It was perfectly suited to our needs. Lisa's communications were super friendly and helpful.

Spectacular Views

Mom’s Place was as described. Very peaceful!! The views are spectacular morning, afternoon and especially at sunset. Lisa was prompt addressing our issues with the Direct TV and offered fabulous advice on hiking, shopping and restaurants! Lisa went above and beyond to make feel like family!

Magical Getaway!

We LOVED staying at Mom's Place. Lisa this owner was so helpful and always at reach. The view was a grand slam! We basically sat on the deck for the most of the time, watching the boats..taking in the colorful trees. We drove around the area for a little while. But since We've been coming to Highlands for decades ..we just wanted to stay put ..be comfy and enjoy the view...and this was the best trip...the accommodations..HIT time for leaf peepers, weather...all wonderful. This cabin had the perfect view of most of the lake..not just a small portion or cut de sac. Next time I want to check in about renting a boat and take a ride around the lake! 10/10 experience!

Nature instead of street lights

For those who love a road less traveled, this is for you. The cabin is well stocked and clean. Great host. The view is hard to beat. You are on the end of a high point looking down the lake with fantastic sunsets. The cabin is nestled in the forest with the lake on 3 sides, so you can watch all the activity. Don't worry if you haven't got a boat, the people at the marina are great to work with and have nice rentals. I will be back next year when I am there for work. I suggest taking all your food and drink items with you, as it does take some time to get back to the local store. Pet safe. 5+ STARS!!!

Beats the standard Mountain View’s!

Wife and I were on NC Blue Ridge Parkway road trip and wanted to stop and relax a few days in the middle of the trip. We thought we would want the big Mountain View’s but really you see this all along the Blue Ridge Parkway at each overlook stop. So we opted for the lake view. mom’s Place did not disappoint. The lake seems to offer so many emotions through the day. Mornings start with misty fog rolling closer then clears as the days begin. Evenings show different shades on distant mountains as the sun sets. The remoteness provides the real ambience that you are actually alone in the forest to enjoy the view. The nearby trees give the feeling you are in a treehouse. Acorns actually fall on the deck. We used the BBQ each night, played board games and just enjoyed being alone. Our Facebook post responses appear to indicate that we are returning with lots of friends. This is a family lake home that has been passed down through generations and it was an honor to be a guest there. Thanks Lisa!

Amazing views of the lake from the balcony.We had a special time with the family. Remote but in a good way. 15 min to Cashiers, 20 min from Highlands. We rented a boat on the lake and made memories.

Cozy cabin with beautiful view

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very comfortable and we enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the lake. We did a lot of eating in and the kitchen is well equipped.

Great place for a quite get away

This property was exactly what we needed for a quite family get away over Thanksgiving. The owner was very helpful and we enjoyed quiet nights by the fire and the great local activities in town and in nearby state parks. Highly recommended.

Amazing stay in the mountains

This is one of the cutest cottages in the Glenville area! The property is very simple however the views are beyond breathtaking! The owner was super sweet and very informative on the property and area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to get back next summer!
