Exclusive Walled City Art Villa, Pool, Rooftop, Breakfast & Staff Included

Casa Gil is our former family home inside Cartagena’s Walled City, now a private villa for up to ten guests. Enjoy four bedrooms, a courtyard pool, rooftop terrace and jacuzzi, surrounded by original family artwork. Breakfast preparation and ingredients, daily housekeeping, and our cook, housekeeper and butler are included. We do not charge a separate cleaning or staffing fee.

OUR FAMILY HOME SINCE 1992

Our family acquired Casa Gil in 1992 and completely renovated it to become our home. We lived here until ten years ago, when we began welcoming guests. I am Sebastian, a member of the Gil family, and I personally manage the house. Over the years, we have continued to renovate and improve it, and our family regularly supervises its maintenance and care.

A PERSONAL CONNECTION TO CARTAGENA

My grandfather, Eladio Gil Zambrana, sculpted India Catalina, one of Cartagena’s most iconic monuments, and Los Alcatraces. His sculptures can also be found beyond Colombia. Every painting in Casa Gil was created by him or my grandmother, Fini Piñero de Gil. Their original works form a private family collection rooted in our Andalusian heritage. If a painting catches your eye, you are welcome to ask about purchasing it during your stay.

THE HOUSE

High ceilings, original marble floors and colonial details frame the living and dining spaces. Gather for breakfast, cool off in the private courtyard pool or unwind in the rooftop jacuzzi with water jets. Restaurants, cafés and the streets of the Walled City are outside your door. The living room and all bedrooms have air conditioning.

There are six beds, four full bathrooms and a guest bathroom.

Bedroom 1: one king bed and a couch.
Bedroom 2: one double bed and two single beds.
Bedroom 3: one double bed.
Bedroom 4: one double bed.

The house has three floors, with stairs to the bedrooms and rooftop. The terrace is reached by passing through Bedroom 4, which also serves as the passage to the terrace. Please consider this layout when assigning rooms and make sure the stairs suit everyone in your group.

Your group has exclusive use of the villa. You will not share its spaces with other travelers. Our staff work on the property and welcome you in person.

OUR TEAM

Our team is on site around the clock in different shifts. Enid, our cook, and Erly, our housekeeper, work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Luis Alfonso, our butler, is on site from 4 p.m. to 7 a.m. Speak with the team member on duty whenever you need assistance. You can also contact me through Vrbo before and during your stay.

BREAKFAST AND OPTIONAL MEALS

Breakfast is a daily set menu rather than a buffet. Please tell us about dietary requirements or allergies before arrival.

Lunch and dinner can be arranged with at least 24 hours’ notice. Guests pay for the ingredients; there is no additional cooking fee. When Enid and Erly stay after 5 p.m. to prepare dinner, a US$25 transportation contribution covers both of them in total and is paid directly to them. Tips are optional.

PRACTICAL DETAILS

Check in from 3 p.m. Check out by 11 a.m.
Free street parking is available near the house, subject to availability. A space is not reserved or guaranteed.
The courtyard pool is outdoors and open to the sky. The pool and rooftop jacuzzi do not have a gate or lock, so children require close adult supervision.
Parties and events are not allowed. Please respect quiet hours from midnight to 8 a.m. and take care around the original artwork.
