We had a peaceful stay at Wolf Lodge. It has cool alpine vibes. The log burner soon makes the room nice and cozy. We were able to cook some delicious meals in the kitchen. The sauna was amazing and on the clear nights the stars were beautiful from the hot tub.

Great stay at wolf lodge
We had a really nice week at wolf lodge. The lodge was cosy and fun, and had everything we needed really, and hot tub/sauna was really nice in the cool autumn weather, as was the wood burner and plenty of logs thanks (the hatchet was very blunt so making kindling was trickier but doable! - and I guess I could’ve just bought some!). Nice quiet location on the lane, with the path down to the river leading into the village etc and a great base for exploring area, the forests and mountains in the Cairngorms. Really nice week away.

Good location and facilities for a short stay.
Good, peaceful location just out of Carrbridge which has good facilities for eating out. The lodge has everything you would need. Space somewhat limited but fine for a short stay. Suitable for a couple and up to 2 children.

Review
When we arrived where we parked our car had poo from an animal everywhere it was difficult to not stand in and we cleaned this up ourselves. The lodge overall is lovely and cosy, perfect for our getaway and great north lodges were so accommodating when we needed to change our dates due to medical reasons. Apart from the outside it was clean and welcoming.
During our stay someone did come over to check the hot tub levels and these facilities were easy to use with instructions provided.
Other appliances such as the hob and Cooker were unnecessarily complex to operate and the instructions were not clear. When looking for a contact during our stay we finally found a number to help with the operation of the appliances and they responded that they were on holiday. They did advise via text answering our questions but otherwise felt very alone if we needed anything else during this time. General waste bin was full when we left but were clearly labelled which was good.
Overall lovely stay.

Fantastic long weekend
We are a family of 3 and our daughter was 6 at the time of stay. We all loved the location, the lodge itself had a magical feel to it and the hot tub was a bonus! Surrounded by trees, friendly birds popped by the bird feeders while we chilled in the hot tub.
It was ideally placed for a trip to Landmark adventure park, which was only a 20 minute walk away. We also took a short drive to Loch Morlich and Lochan Uaine as part of our trip.
All in all a great place to stay, and had all the facilities we could possibly need

Already can’t wait to come back!
Had the most amazing time at Wolf Lodge, it was cosy! Spotless and eveything you could want. Everything you need in the kitchen, we cooked a lovely meal every night and enjoyed it infront of the fire. My labrador felt right at home too, lazy mornings with the fire on. Great location with just a short drive into Aviemore. Already been looking when we can book and come again!

Nice little cottage
While the pictures make it seem bigger then it is, I still enjoyed my stay there very much. Coming from Canada, it took a little getting used to. The stove ... HoB? was completely new to me. While the weather didn't co-operate too much, i did manage to sneak into the hot hot once, for a very relaxing time. The wood stove, while small, heats it up fast as well. My only complaint, was the shower/toilet. Not to say there's anything wrong with it, but being 6'1, 350lb, it was a tight fit for me. I would still stay there again though, in a heartbeat. It was a very good place to explore norther Scotland from!

Relaxing Highland retreat
We loved our week here. Very tranquil surroundings. Garden lovely for sitting out in and hot tub was a luxurious touch which we used at least once a day. Fantastic location for Landmark and other local attractions. Would definitely stay again. Great to have a washing machine as well as dishwasher. Our 6 year old really enjoyed the lodge and the stair going up to the bedroom.

Perfect week in the Cairngorms
We spent a lovely week in Wolf Lodge which is well positioned to go exploring in the mountains. The lodge was small but had everything we needed for two adults to have a comfortable stay and everything was in working order. Unfortunately, all along the driveway were full dog poo bags left by the neighbour, which is not a great first impression. But the lodge itself was clean and tidy and we took full advantage of the hot tub.

Fantastic location, but in need of TLC
We had a great stay at the Wolf Lodge, place was clean and location is brilliant. The kids loved the hot tub and we were very comfortable. You can tell when built Wolf Lodge was very very nice, but we felt it looked a bit like it needed some TLC. Only a few issues really, we didn't have enough soace to all eat together on the table, and the kids couldn't explore the woods directly opposite due to the INSANE amount of dog poo. Which wasn't nice to see. We would come again though!

A well needed break away
We know the area well and have stayed in a few different accommodations. This was a treat because of the hot tub and the sauna. For the price we paid, the lodge is tired. The settee is very soft and not the easiest to get up from (being of a certain age). The kitchen is very function-able except for seeing the controls on the cooker. It functions well for a couple, would be small for a family of 4.

Overall good
Would recommend that you leave an idiots guide for the induction hob, couldn’t find instructions in manual file or online; we managed to get the oven to work though. Everything was great and a good base for walking and cycling plus day tripping

Pros and Cons
Pros:
Good location
Has everything you need - hot tub/sauna/log burner/dishwasher/washing machine etc
Cons:
On the small side which meant feeling cramped
The mattresses are not comfy which meant a couple of sleepless nights
I would still recommend property due to the pros

Great location but needing upgraded
We loved the location In amongst the trees, had to put the sauna on to heat the bathroom and kitchen up, kitchen fridge was very smelly due to being turn off and shut and caused the kitchen to smell for the first 3 days, instructions for appliances are very basic or not explained the best, would come back in the summer in the better weather, hot tub and sauna was great and al beds were comfy and the kids loved it, 6/10

Wolf Lodge May 2024
We stayed for 3 nights in May and had an enjoyable stay. The location is good and the interior was clean although dated. Some furniture was falling apart including a drawer front which fell off and some handles. The exterior could be cleaner, including the decking area, outdoor tables and chairs and the hot tub. There was no hairdryer provided as specified, but the manager brought one quickly.
The lodge was well equipped but small. I felt it was quite expensive for a dated, small property.

Great stay in a lovely location
The lodge had everything we needed for our stay and all information was provided without needing to ask. The instructions for how to use the induction hob were missing (someone mentioned this in a previous review), which are important if you’ve never used one before so I had to spend a good 30 minutes on the internet trying to fathom it out! And maybe the instruction manual needs an overhaul as some of the equipment in the lodge has been updated so not everything in the manual is relevant. We enjoyed our time at Wolf Lodge, it was comfortable and clean - I would stay there again for sure!

A fantastic stay at the Wolf Lodge
We had a fantastic stay at the Wolf Lodge (seven nights). The lodge was very clean, well presented and very cosy. Facilities / amenities, living area and beds were all clean and tidy. The lodge can be described as a “little small”. It’s more for a couple on a getaway break, or a small family of four (two adults, two young children). But the size wasn’t much of an issue for us (three adults) as we were only at the lodge in the evenings after going out for hikes during the days. The sauna and hot tub were fantastic to use after a day of exploring and adventuring. It’s location is well placed in a quiet peaceful area with local shops being only a five minute walk away. Their comprehensive app containing lodge and local area information was a very useful guide for us to use.
All in all, a great experience at a great price. We were very happy with our stay and will be looking to stay again in the future.

Wolf Lodge
The location of this lodge is excelent. The facilities other than the sauna and jacuzzi are poor considering the cost. Little details have not been thought of, no welcome pack, the axe for wood is blunt and instructions for oven which is faulty are not provided. The design of the lodge is fun but everthing feels like it needs a bit of tlc the decking seems to be rotten in places and the treads outside are loose. The tv is very small for a holiday let of this cost. The garden is great for dogs and kids and a decent size. The forest bank outside the property close to where you park is used as a dog toilet by neighbours and even some rubbish in the wooded area. This is not pleasent for a holiday cottage experience.

A Cozy Retreat at Woodlawn Lodge: Hot Tubs, Sauna, and a Touch of Dust
We recently stayed at Wolf Lodge, seeking a peaceful retreat from the daily grind, and it mostly delivered on that promise. Here's our take:
Pros:
- Hot Tub and Sauna: The highlight of our stay was definitely the hot tub and sauna. It was the perfect way to unwind after exploring the area. The hot tub was always warm and inviting, offering a relaxing experience every time we dipped in.
- Location: Nestled in a scenic spot, the lodge's location was ideal for those looking to connect with nature. The surrounding views were breathtaking, and it was conveniently close to hiking trails and local attractions.
- Cleanliness: For the most part, the lodge was clean. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were spotless, which is crucial for a comfortable stay.
Cons:
- Furniture Condition: While the overall cleanliness was good, some of the furniture could use an update or a thorough cleaning. We noticed dust on several pieces, which somewhat detracted from the experience.
- Drawers: A minor inconvenience but worth noting, some of the drawers in the lodge were broken or sticking, which made unpacking and storage a bit challenging.
Overall Experience:
Despite these minor hiccups, our stay at wolf Lodge was enjoyable. The rustic charm, combined with the excellent relaxation facilities, made it a memorable getaway. For those who prioritize comfort over perfection, this lodge offers a nice balance. We'd return for another visit, perhaps with a gentle reminder to the management about the furniture upkeep.

Surprise 40th stay
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would book again. As very minor points, some areas could have done with a bit attention ie fence and decking being painted and windows could have benefitted from a wash but on the whole, lovely lodge and our family loved staying here.

Fantastic stay
Wolf Lodge was a lovely cosy, rustic retreat which we would highly recommend. The setting was secluded and private and the location really convenient for several attractions and activities. The place was clean, comfortable and had a lot of character - the upstairs floor accessed via ladder in particular was very charming. The hot tub was also a very nice feature and we were pleasantly surprised to find a sauna there too, (we may have overlooked this but it wasn't super evident from the website that there would be a sauna) although from the instructions it took us a short while to realise there were two switches to turn on the sauna rather than just one, and watch your step as you enter, as part of the wood has worn away but part has not.
The space in the lodge generally is quite tight inside, to the point where you wonder if it would be better used as a retreat for two instead of four: if the bunk bed was removed the living/dining area could be extended. As a very minor point, at least one of the pans was not compatible with the induction hob and a couple of extra sharp knives wouldn't go amiss. Overall though, a really pleasant and enjoyable stay!

A little tired
The wolf lodge is a lovely idea but it’s a little tired. Several light bulbs were not working and the door to the downstairs bedroom did not close properly. Lots of the dishes needed cleaned before first use. The mattresses were too firm and the pillows were too thick (this is obviously a personal preference). The sauna timer kept getting stuck in the on position. Lastly there was a very large amount of dog poo on the bank opposite the car parking area which is obviously not the fault of the Wolf lodge or GNL but it is quite unpleasant and we had to make sure my son didn’t go near the bank. We had a lovely stay but we were a little bit underwhelmed given our expectations of GNL and we wouldn’t return to this property but would definitely book with GNL again!
