Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. It’s a family-oriented beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!
The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, restaurants, and local shops of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or party boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier complete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is nearby, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday and FIREWORKS every Thursday. We welcome you to sit back, relax and enjoy yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!
This suite is a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world charm, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everyone! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while vacationing with us on our Island!
The entry to this 2 bedroom, 1 bath suite opens into a newly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and fully equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is stocked will all the basic cooking and dining utensils one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!).
1 courtesy soap, shampoo and conditioner are left in the bathroom of each home as well as 2 rolls of TP per bath, 1 makeup wipe and one backup toothbrush. 1 roll of paper towel, a sponge, dish soap, 2 trash bags per receptacle and (*as applicable) 3 dishwasher and laundry pods will be available to use if needed!
The unit's ONE QUEEN bed and ONE TWIN over FULL bunk bed consists of either a plush luxury mattress or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition mattress because we want all of our guests to be comfortable when it comes time to recharge.
1 set of the following will be made on a per bed/per person basis to help you be comfortable on your adventure! Bed sheets (fitted/flat set), bath towels, wash cloths, cleaning rags, pillowcases, bathmats and kitchen towels. Laundering or extra sets are not an available service regrettably. Please make sure all used linens are placed in one location in the home at departure. Please let all BED LINENS remain on the beds for our TEAM to take care of! There is one smart TV in each suite to utilize one's personal subscriptions (such as Netflix or Hulu) along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and enjoy some movies or shows after a long day at the beach!
The outdoor shower is located on the lower left of the building to help get that sand off of those toes!

The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE (never shared) along with a portion of a respective deck, patio, or balcony.
PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (1) ONE 8'x14' assigned parking space. Suites 1-3 park up front next to the road while 4-6 park in the rear of the building. DO NOT double park if looking to avoid a tow. Guests driving "oversized vehicles" (from SUVs to pickups) may have issues fitting comfortably.

Neighborhood description
Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island. The building itself is one row away from the ocean, and two rows in from the Intracoastal Waterway. The property is set four blocks from downtown Carolina Beach with its shops, activities, and dining.
Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and vacationers all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun. We truly have an amazing community! Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through Carolina Beach State Park, Fishing on the Kure Beach Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more relaxing and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!
Getting around
There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has several vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Rentals @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!
After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

•The Town of Carolina Beach offers multiple public parking options to visitors and residents on a FIRST COME-FIRST SERVE basis. Town-operated parking is open year round and paid parking is enforced March 1st - October 31st from 9AM - 8PM. Parking fees restart each morning during enforcement hours for all of the Town's parking lots and on-street parking spaces.
•PARKING RATES: *(Parking rates are approved annually and are subject to change) March 1st - October 31st, 9AM - 8PM Parking Lots $ 6/hour or $25/day Premium Parking Lots $ 7/hour or $35/day Bus, Limo, and oversized vehicle $10/hour or $40/day On-Street Parking: Without Time Restrictions $ 5/hour With Time Restrictions $ 5/hour Weekly Parking Permits $100 Available for purchase at Town Hall, the Parking Office (open 7 days a week) and online.
GOLF CARTS
•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorcycles, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple vehicles, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.
•ALL suites are non-smoking (including vaping) and a heavy cleaning/repair charge can result if not adhered to. This includes porches, decks, balconies, and walkways. Please smoke well away from any SWRE property unless willing to risk the potential loss of deposit or more.
•NO BBQing on ANY decks or porches. This is a huge fire hazard and is fineable by the town (as is removing batteries from any smoke or co2 alarms). We work extremely hard to keep all our guests safe, and sometimes that takes teamwork!
•Please always consider TRAVEL INSURANCE from your respective booking site or vendor to help protect your costs in case of inclement weather or last-minute travel complications (court, illness, etc.). These items are NOT refundable scenarios unless the property itself is compromised.

In perfect walking distance from the beach, restaurants, ice cream shops, and shopping. I do wish the windows had curtains, but overall, great beach rental!
More than we expected, spacious, beautiful, cozy, great location and left us with a great vacation nostalgia. Will definitely make reservations for next year as soon as I'm able to. Thank you!!

If you’re looking for a quiet cozy (and affordable) place to stay this is definitely it! It was really nice being able to walk to different restaurants and bars, while also being far enough from the noise. It was beautiful, quiet and peaceful. So close to the beach and local shops. The board walk and several restaurants are within walking distance. I am rebooking to take the whole family later this summer. I absolutely love it.
Had a blast. Property was clean and well managed. Space was adequate and close to beach. Beds were very squeaky for everyone - kids and parents. If your hoping to be intimate with your spouse I promise the bed will notify all others!
The suite was very clean with fast access to the beach, and had what we needed for the most part. The property owner was very quick to respond to questions, etc., and the check in was extremely easy, and painless. There were plenty things around within walking distance to do, and eat. The only issues we had at all, were the beds were pretty hard, and it got hot in the bedrooms, the main room and the kitchen were very comfortable though. We did enjoy our stay and would return.
This is our second time staying at the house, and we plan to come back in future years! We really like this location--walking distance to the board walk and the harbor, so we didn't have to scramble for parking at either location. Easy to get to a grocery store and save money that way. Owner is friendly and communicative. Access to the beach couldn't be easier, and the house is smartly laid out. We really like it here and highly recommend this place!
Me and a friend stayed at the location for a weekend during a guy's weekend. The location is an easy walk away from all the local hot spots in Carolina Beach, and the price was decent for the location, which is the main reason we picked this spot. Unfortunately, in our quick decision to get the close stay, we overlooked the need to bring sheets/ towels, and the lack of planning for this location. Again, I blame ourselves for that, but those who read the reviews, make sure to bring your own sheets/ towels, or tent them. And make sure if you're driving more than one vehicle, like we did, make sure to pay for parking for the other car(s)

Perfect for what we needed! We had a short stay so we dodn’t use much of the kitchen and didn’t need a washer/dryer (which the unit did not have anyways). Perfect location right at the Scallop Public Beach access and a five minute walk to the board walk/pelican public beach access. Loved the guaranteed parking spot! Great price and could definitely see ourselves staying in unit five again!
Take photos before and after your stay. We were wrongfully charged for damage. We swept up food from previous tenants. Mattresses were very hard. Parking was extremely tight. The apartment was close to the beach.

Fantastic!!
Our family had our very first family vacation, and we could not possibly have been more pleased!! The condo was clean, Dale was very quick to respond to any questions we had, and we were sad to leave :( Definitely an awesome trip and a fabulous place to stay!! Close to boardwalk, rides, restaurants, etc!! Highly recommend!!
