"A nice and more affordable option for those visiting North Lake Tahoe. The Granlibakken has an old-school Tahoe vibe, which can be both charming and dated. This particular room, while checking all the boxes, definitely has a bit of "staying the night at Grandma's house) vibe. Furniture is fully functional, but could use an upgrade. Overall, would stay again for the price, but would enjoy it more with a little refresh."

"We had a great time here. You can’t beat the location, the lobby is really nice with water on tap and coffee. We used the pool and hot tub, and you can check out towels at the front desk. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were very comfortable, but we didn’t use the pillows because they were very very fluffy and hurt your neck."

"We booked the ADA room, which was advertised as a classic room with a roll in the shower. It was supposed to hold a queen size bed. The bed was a little bigger than a full. There were no chairs in the room, just bare bones furniture. The light fixture in the room was attached to a cord that went from the light switch to the wall and down the wall to an electrical outlet. Are you kidding me? There was a refrigerator in the room, but it had a glass door and a blue light so we had to sleep with that light on all night. I don’t sleep well with light on. We checked out after the first night because this was our anniversary trip and this was not something we were expecting. We would like a refund for the following two nights."

"The staff here was extremely unfriendly and unaccommodating. My family and I reserved a two-night stay, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. When we arrived, we were under the impression that the property offered private beach access. What we were not informed of was that access required an additional $5 fee per person. We also found some amenities to be misleadingly advertised. For example, there was a grill on the property, but when we asked about using it, we were told it would result in a violation and a $100 fine. Throughout our stay, the front desk seemed far more focused on finding ways to charge guests than providing good customer service. We were repeatedly warned about fees for things such as entering the property incorrectly, losing a towel, or violating property rules. It felt like staff took more interest in explaining penalties than helping guests. When we raised our concerns, we were told our complaints would be "written up." The following day, a guest in our group asked about using the barbecue area and was immediately threatened with a violation instead of receiving a clear explanation. Another major concern was safety. During our stay, my family and I witnessed two bears roaming around the property near guest buildings and parked vehicles. To make matters worse, the manager was difficult to communicate with and seemed more interested in threatening to call the police than addressing concerns professionally."

"I was on vacation with my girls. We stayed at three different hotels and this one was our favorite! We loved the set up of the room. It was clean and modern decor. It was roomy and had places to put our things. We loved the shower! We loved being so close to the water. The lake was beautiful!! They had a nice pool and hot tub. The general manager was very nice and helpful!"

"We booked a room for two guests, but there were only one coffee mug, one bath robe, and one pair of slippers in the room?! The housekeeper came by at 10am next morning. We were not ready to leave the room yet so we asked her to come back around 11am to make up the room. By time we came back after walking around and lunch, we came back to the room about 3pm. The room was not made up yet. We had to call Housekeeping to arrange cleaning but our calls were never picked up. We called Housekeeping on other requests and no one picked up our calls. Wondering if the Housekeeping Department ever existed? We called the general operator to arrange the clean up and we had to leave our room again to let the housekeeper cleaned our room. Other than the above disappointing situation, the hotel is nice, clean, at a good location and front desk staff are friendly."
