"We had a great stay at the holiday inn Carlsbad. We were met right away with very friendly staff and a well kept lobby. Our room was clean and set up like you’d expect. We used the pool and hot tub and I was happy it was heated and clean."

"Two staff members were great. the young lady that checked me in (I didn't get her name) and the night clerk, Jeremy. There was not any soap, coffee, or tea in the room. Nor were there any cups. the TV didn't work at all and the wi-fi was very spotty. The middle aged gentleman who checked me out said we would be getting a discount for our inconvenience however our card was charged the full amount. This is the first time I've had a problem while staying here. In the past, I have had excellent service."

"I have NEVER given a bad review, but here I must. The property was dated, and some of the furniture was in bad shape. For instance, the bar stools in the kitchen area were torn on the cushion area or were patched. One night I used the toilet and the water came up in the shower. I had to wait the next day for several hours for a plumber to come out and clear the main line. In the Master Bedroom on windy nights the curtains on the inside of the room would move. And if you like dogs, the neighbors have three dogs and they'll be glad to wake you up at three AM, barking loudly. And the neighborhood is a little scary. This house needs a lot of TLC, or should be bulldozed. "

"The check in info and communication came via text message which was super convenient. Some delay in replies. The house was spacious with plenty of rooms, a great family dining area, and large comfortable beds. We appreciated the ability to do laundry during our brief stay. The house and furniture are a bit dilapidated (upholstery falling apart, ice machine broken) and it was not sparkling clean (showers dirty, dishes dirty, foul smell near laundry area and bathrooms). Overall it met our needs as a stop over after a long day hiking and traveling. "
