Treat yourselves to a unique getaway in an exceptional and peaceful setting! Just 20 km from Montségur Castle, 31 km from Monts d’Olmes, and close to Foix (18 km) and the medieval town of Mirepoix (23 km), Le Chant de la Rivière is an authentic cottage set in a former horn comb factory, a place steeped in history.



This warm, comfortable cottage is designed for 2 guests only and offers the welcoming atmosphere of a family home. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, and bright veranda. Bed linen is provided, and firewood is available in winter. There are no cleaning fees, but we ask that you leave the place clean and tidy.



Enjoy a unique stay on the banks of the Douctouyre river, lulled by the sound of the water and surrounded by hiking trails starting at your doorstep.



On-site experiences: canoe available to explore the river, evenings by the fire or in the veranda, and guided tours in a Citroën 2CV to discover Ariège’s hidden sites and local stories (available for an extra charge).



Pets are welcome: ONE well-behaved dog is allowed under certain conditions (no staying alone in the cottage, cleanliness required, damages covered).



The exceptional natural setting allows for hikes from the cottage, discovery of Roquefort waterfalls just 2.5 km away on foot, and exploration of local heritage: Cathar castles, mills, museums, and typical villages. Personalized advice is offered for your excursions and local activities.
