Treat yourselves to a unique getaway in a peaceful and exceptional setting! Just 20 km from Montségur Castle, 31 km from Monts d’Olmes, and close to Foix (18 km) and the medieval town of Mirepoix (23 km), Le Chant de la Rivière is an authentic cottage set in a former horn comb factory, a place full of history.



Designed for 2 guests, this warm and comfortable cottage offers the inviting atmosphere of a family home. Inside, you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, a fireplace, and a bright veranda. Bed linen is provided, and firewood is available in winter. There are no cleaning fees, but you are asked to leave the place clean and tidy.



Enjoy a unique stay on the banks of the Douctouyre river, lulled by the sound of the water and surrounded by hiking trails right outside the door.



On-site experiences: a canoe is available to explore the river, cozy evenings by the fire or in the veranda, and guided tours in a Citroën 2CV to discover Ariège’s hidden gems, with local anecdotes (available for an extra charge).



Pets are welcome: one well-behaved dog is allowed under certain conditions (no staying alone in the cottage, cleanliness required, damages covered).



The exceptional natural setting offers hiking from the doorstep, the Roquefort waterfalls 2.5 km away on foot, and local heritage: castles, royal fortresses of Languedoc (formerly called Cathar castles), mills, museums, and typical villages.
