Escape to the historic Ice House, a charming, dog-friendly cottage nestled on the private Crystal Farm Estate in the heart of the spectacular Crystal River Valley. Surrounded by towering red cliffs, mature trees, sweeping mountain views, and just 200 feet from the Gold Medal waters of the Crystal River, this one-of-a-kind retreat offers the perfect blend of history, comfort, and natural beauty.

During the summer months (Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend), guests enjoy access to the estate`s outdoor swimming pool and tennis courts, all set among beautifully landscaped grounds with lush, mature trees.

PLEASE NOTE: The tiny loft is accessed by a steep ladder and has a low railing, making it unsuitable for younger children. This home is best suited for 2 adults and up to 2 children between 6-12 years and is not available for groups of 4 adults.

Originally built in the 1890s as the estate`s ice house to serve nearby Redstone Castle, this lovingly restored cottage features custom leather furnishings, rustic mountain décor, antler chandeliers, a cozy wood-burning stove, and a fully equipped kitchen. The dining area offers picturesque views of the historic estate and dramatic red rock cliffs.

Dogs are welcome! You`ll likely be greeted by Rupert, the friendly farm dog, who loves visitors and gets along well with other dogs. This home is not a good fit for guests or pets that are uncomfortable around dogs.

This rural cottage is located in the mountains, which is shared with many creatures both great and small. This may include, but is not limited to, ants, elm seed beetles, box elder bugs, flies, wasps, and on rare occasion even a snake or a mouse. They may find their way into the home if doors or windows without screens are left open so we strongly encourage you to keep doors and windows without screens closed at all times. We encourage you to not book this home if this makes you uncomfortable. Refunds will not be given for critter sightings.

There is no cable TV however there is a Smart TV with streaming capabilities.

The bedroom is on the upper level and the bathroom is on the lower level. There are 12 stairs to climb from the kitchen and dining room to reach the upper level and 2 steps to from the kitchen and dining room into the bathroom.

This home is not wheelchair accessible.

Included in the price of your rental is an Administrative Fee for $59. This is required protection insurance provided by Waivo for up to $2500 in accidental damage. The full agreement and list of coverage details can be found in the Additional Rules section on the checkout page.

HOUSE RULES
A. Guest is responsible for all occupants of the home and must require that all rules herein, as well as the within the Guest Rental Agreement, are followed.
B. No one under the age of twenty-five (25) shall rent this property. All children must be under direct adult supervision at all times.
C. It may be requested that Guest take trash to the curb on the scheduled day(s) of trash removal, and not before, per the Guest Guide located within the Property.
D. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM - 8:00 AM daily. Quiet hours consist of no music and keeping all audio at a minimum level out of respect for the surrounding residents.
E. Additional persons above the maximum occupancy of the home may NOT stay overnight at the Property.
F. Guest is responsible for any fine and/or violation that is imposed on the Homeowner due to the negligence of any person permitted on the Property by Guest.
G. Guest agrees not to use the Property for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to, the sale, use or possession of illegal drugs on or around the Property.
H. Absolutely no hazardous materials are permitted to be in or around the Property at any time.
I. The burning of candles is not permitted within the Property, with the exception of birthday candles.
J. Under no circumstances may a stove, oven or range be used as a source of heat. All appliances are to be used only for their intended purpose.
K. Charcoal and Gas Barbecue grills may not be used inside any structure located on the Property.
L. Guest may not bring a grill (of any type) or fire pit for use on the premises.
M. Tents or other structures may not be erected on the Property without written approval.
N. Commercial photography or filming is not permitted on the Property.
O. All windows and doors must remain closed during inclement weather.
P. Guest shall notify Manager of any pest control problems.
Q. The use of any provided swimming pool or hot tub is at Guest`s own risk. Guest further understands that any interruption of use will not alter or change any of the terms of this Agreement.
R. Guest may not block the fire escape at any time.
S. The Homeowner does not permit gatherings at the Property. A disturbance caused by Guest or any person permitted on the Property during Guest`s stay which results in any police action or complaints from neighbors is considered sufficient cause for immediate termination of this Agreement with immediate eviction and forfeiture of all monies paid as permitted by law.
T. No towels or linens shall be taken from the Property. A cleaning fee is automatically added and charged for each confirmed reservation. Guest is expected to leave the Property in a neat and orderly condition. An additional cleaning fee may apply if excessive cleaning or trash removal is required upon Guest`s departure.
U. A mandatory damage protection policy fee for third-party accidental rental damage insurance will be automatically charged to each booking. Should the assessed damages and or the amount of missing items, exceed the maximum limits of the insurance policy, Guest shall be held responsible to pay for the deficiency.
