Amazing property in hills (but still very close to city centre), breathtaking view. Beautiful house, very well equipped. Great breakfast and super welcoming host, Ughetta who even let us check out late. Overall we had great stay, would definetely come back!

Wonderful service & location. Girls are doing a one of a kind job. And I’ll repeat the note I left in the book in my room- people warned me aboot the baboons stealing my backpack... but nobody warned me about the Bluegum stealing my heart!

Personalized service in a delightful guesthouse
We loved our hosts at Bluegum who were helpful and friendly. We met nice travelers there as well. The guesthouse has a lovely view of Cape Town and a real local feel. It is comfortable and well appointed. The pool has an amazing view. Breakfast is delicious! If you aren't too fond of impersonal hotels and like the idea of very personalized service and advise, you will love the Bluegum Guesthouse!

A nice guest house in a very good area. Rooms super clean i was in a single room which was small but i had no problem. Good location about 20mins walk down a hill to waterfront. Great views from the balcony with a nice pool and seating area. I would recommend this to anyone, only drawback it's on top of a very steep hill so walking up is difficult, taxis uber are cheap enough. Aissa was very kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast too. Thank you.

Blue Gum...by gum!!! get your crampons on!!!
Nice place, great view, but agony to access...one needed to be a mountain goat to ascend and descend the myriad steps down to the actual accommodation...shame because otherwise it was pretty nice.

Excellent choice!
It was amazing. The managers were very helpful and friendly. The staff was very good. Spectacular views. Location is close to my points of interest and easily accessible by Uber. The breakfast on the terrace is a joy.

Excellent views of the city and within easy reaching distance of the V&A. Fabulous hosts who helped us hire a care to visit Cape Point and advised us to visit the quaint seaside town of Kalk Bay. Highly recommend a stay here.

Lovely spacious apartment.
Lovely well secured apartment up in the hills from Cape Town. Two bedrooms and a helpful owner. A garage so you don’t have to worry about your car. Superb views from your two balconies of Cape Town, Robben Island and the stadium. Waterfront a short drive away.

We stayed for a total of 4 nights and were extremely pleased. The house is in a quiet neighborhood on Signal Hill with views overlooking Cape Town and Robben Island. The proprietor Aissa helped us in many ways big and small before and during our stay in Cape Town and we would rate service as some of the best we have ever had. The house has a nice, well apportioned rooms, each of which is unique and has a large bathroom. The outdoor areas are wonderful to sit out on. The house has a nice selection of reasonably priced wines, craft beers, and other drinks and snacks. We were out the door early almost every day, so we only ate breakfast there once, but with some forewarning, they will make you a to go breakfast for the next day. The breakfast we ate there was excellent. The only possible con is that the location of the hotel in a quiet neighborhood means you might want to Uber to destinations in the city rather than walking, particularly after dark. The V and A waterfront is within sight of the hotel, but apparently Cape Town can get a little dicey at night (we did not have any issues). We did not see this as a problem, particularly on the night they had a deafening carnival celebration near some of the other hotels, but it is something to consider. Not only would we stay here again, but I doubt we would even bother looking at other places to stay if we return to Cape Town.

We do recommend taking an Uber or Taxi as it is easier, not expensive and at night just an extra precaution! We hope we get to see you back in Cape Town one day and hopefully have you stay with us once again! Trust you are stil enjoying some wonderful holiday memories of the Cape! Stunning views and wonderful owners
Absolutely fantastic. The owners are so hospitable and accommodating. I was able to arrive early and drop off my bag (in fact, my room was ready for me when I arrived at 9am). They also allowed me to check out late on my last day, which was really generous. Very nice breakfast, including yogurt and fruit, eggs and toast, and french press coffee. The location is good; very quiet and peaceful away from the bustle of the city, but only a short taxi ride (or walk down the hill to catch the city bus) to the city centre. The pool area is well-maintained and the view is truly spectacular. They have a small bar/fridge with a decent selection of drinks. Free wifi with a reasonably fast connection. In short, it was everything I was looking for in a guesthouse.

Oppholdet vårt på Bluegum hill var helt fantastisk. Vi var syke da vi ankom og Aaissa tok var på oss som vår egen mor. Hun sørget for at vi hadde alt vi trengte og hjalp oss til legen etc. Selv om vi var sengeliggende var det et 10/10 opphold og vi kunne ikke valgt et bedre sted å tilbringe late dager mens vi ventet på å bli friske. Personalet er veldig hyggelig og gjestehuset er utrolig koselig med en fantastisk utsikt over Cape Town. Vi skulle gjerne blitt lenger og kommer gjerne tilbake!

Et fantastisk fint sted å bo i Cape Town. Topp hyggelig og hjelpsomt vertskap, nydelig utsikt fra fine uterom, deilig frokost og koselig sted. Herfra er det mulig å gå til og fra på dagtid. Vi brukte Uber som transportmiddel når vi ikke gikk. Raskt, sikkert, praktisk og billig. Helt sikkert vårt førstevalg for bosted neste gang vi er i Cape Town.

Vraiment une superbe adresse
Très bon accueil avec toutes les explications nécessaires pour passer un séjour réussi à Capetown. L'appartement est très spacieux, luxueux et très bien équipé. Rien ne manque, tout est neuf, moderne et de très bonne qualité. WiFi et Netflix impeccables. Superbe terrasse avec vue dégagée sur le stade, l'océan et la ville. Très bonne literie. Nous y avons passé 4 nuits de rêve. Le quartier est très sécurisé. Le parking privé et fermé est vraiment un plus. Ughetta et Aissa sont 2 personnes charmantes qui savent recevoir et qui prennent soin de leurs hôtes. Grâce à elles, notre séjour a été totalement réussi.

J'ai beaucoup apprécié l'accueil et le sens du service de la propriétaire qui a tout fait pour rendre notre séjour le plus agréable possible. C'est grâce à elle que nous avons trouvé un laboratoire médical dans une banlieue résidentielle qui effectue des tests PCR Covid-19 sur les touristes et qui nous a délivré le test négatif indispensable pour rentrer en Europe. L'appartement jouit d'une vue exceptionnelle sur la mer et le V&A Waterfront et est très bien équipé (wifi, TV, lave-linge, lave-vaisselle, etc.).

Die Lage ist weltklasse, kurze Wege in die Stadt und ans Wasser und dazu ein super Ausblick. Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse ist ein Erlebnis für sich, einmal wegen des Blicks und dann aufgrund des leckeren und reichhaltigen Frühstücks. Die Poolterrasse lässt vergessen, dass man mitten in einer Großstadt ist. Die Zimmer sind sauber und originell eingerichtet, einziger Kritikpunkt: es fehlt ein kleiner Kühlschrank. Wir werden immer wieder kommen und nie was anderes in Cape Town ausprobieren.

Skønt gæstehus med en fantastisk udsigt
Vi boede 4 nætter på Bluegum Hill Guesthouse & Apartments i januar 2019. Gæstehuset er beliggende i et stille, roligt og sikkert område i Green Point. Det er højt beliggende og har en fantastisk udsigt ud over bugten i Cape Town. Vi oplevede en dejlig atmosfære på stedet. Vi blev taget rigtig godt imod og fik alt den hjælp vi havde brug for. Morgenmaden var helt i top og kan nydes fra en af de skønne terrasser med den fantastiske udsigt. Det er nemt at komme til og fra gæstehuset og rundt i byen. Vi oplevede en service, som var helt i top. Det er helt sikkert et sted, vi ønsker at vende tilbage til, og som vi vil anbefale til andre. Tusind tak til søstrene som har stedet - Aissa og Ughetta

Ein stilvollesvolles Guesthouse in toller Lage
Ein kleines Guesthouse mit nur 6 Zimmern (und einem Appartement), sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, herzlicher und kompetenter Service, ruhig am Signal Hill gelegen mit einem fantastischen Blick auf Kapstadt. Ein Gästekühlschrank beinhaltete alles Erforderliche für einen gemütlichen Sundowner. Das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen. Unser Zimmer (6) hatte ein für uns kleines Bett. Die Waterfront konnte sicher in ca. 20 Min. zu Fuß erreicht werden.

Vi tillbringade tre dagar i Kapstaden och är så glada över att vi hittade detta hemtrevliga ställe med två systrar som gjorde allt för att få oss att trivas. Skulle vi återvända till samma ställe.

The perfect place to stay in Cape Town
I booked the penthouse apartment for a week and this was the best choice I could do. The hosts are just amazing - very nice and friendliy, very knowledgeable about the city and the region, always ready to help and doing really the best to satisfy their guests needs and wishes. The transfer from the airport worked excellent, Ughetta explaind me where to find everything in the house and gave me great ideas what I could do in the next days, nice restaurants, wher to buy souveniers etc. The house is build as the last on e on the hill. You have an amazing view from the terrace, really stunning when the sun rises. If you are fit you could walk to the V&A Waterfront or to the CBD (slowly walk about 30 minutes downhill), you have also a lot of restarants and shops in walking distance (10 minutes downhill). going back could be challenging as it is up the hill but Uber costs just 30 rand from CBD or Waterfront The penthouse apartment is just perfect - hudge terrace with the same amazing view, very comfortable living room and big bath and sleeping room. You’ll find everything you need and it is clean and safe place. I love the city and the great place and the amazing staff will make your stay unforgettable

Top choice in Cape Town
Has to be one of the best guest houses in Cape Town, excellent location, comfy room, breathtaking views, tasty breakfast buffet and lots of information available about the town and surroundings.
