About this property
Unique Scottish Victorian Country House In The Trossachs/Loch Lomond-6 bedrooms
Within the heart of The Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park at Brig O’Turk, Dundarroch is a beautiful and spacious Victorian family house set in 7 acres of mature gardens with stunning views. Brig o' Turk is just over an hour from both Edinburgh or Glasgow airport. It lies six miles west of Callander and about four miles north of Aberfoyle. Dundarroch backs directly onto the biking trails and footpaths in the national park and is less than a mile away from Loch Venachar and Loch Achray, and under three miles from Loch Katrine is to the west. Steeped in history and legend, Loch Katrine is the perfect place for a Trossachs adventure with a trip aboard the famous Sir Walter Scott steamship over to Stronachlachar en route to Loch Lomond. Within the area there are boundless opportunities for outdoor activities including climbing, hill walking, mountain biking, water sports, fishing, shooting and stalking. Gleneagles/Loch Lomond are only 35 miles away. This magnificent house dates back to 1870 and has been decorated to a high standard to create a very stylish and modern holiday home that is in keeping with its beautiful natural surroundings. It has outstanding westerly views towards the striking peak of Ben Venue and the garden is bordered by the rivers Black Water and Turk. Accomodation for 12 people consists of the following :- • Six bedrooms en suite – 1 superking, 3 kings and 2 twins bedrooms plus 1 travel cot • Kitchen/Dining Room, Drawing Room, Sitting Room, TV room , Play Room, Utility Room • Satellite TV and Wi-Fi. The kitchen area is open plan with spacious seating in a recent extension and offers a Rangemaster 110 Excel cooker for those with an eye on group/family entertainment. Dundarroch has a wood burning stove in the TV room and in the sitting room in a traditional stone feature an LPG fireplace making it the ideal spot for curling up in the evening. Outside there is plenty of parking right by the door and surrounding the property is a landscaped garden with external furniture seating. Towering pines up the driveway add to the natural beauty of the landscape in the national park. The grounds are home to red squirrels, pine martens, pheasants, wood peckers deer and beavers. From the house there are numerous short walks and forest trails to be enjoyed or longer climbs like Ben A’an or Ben Venue both of which offer unforgettable views over Loch Katrine and the surrounding area. Exclusive property with large parking area that offers space, views and nature under 1 roof Exceptionally beautiful scenery within an undiscovered National Park. Private path and road and gated property.

A well appointed property that provided very comfortable accommodation for nine adults. Would thoroughly recommend this property. The views from the property and the grounds of the property are spectacular.
Nothing bad to say about the property. We had a terrific stay. The lochs, the mountains, the amenities, the local food and the knowledgeable locals. The house itself was everything we needed and more. Would highly recommend staying here.
Booked the house for a birthday celebration with friends. House was absolutely perfect with loads of space for all and the garden and views are amazing! Would definitely recommend.
Stayed here with the family of 10. Everybody had ample space, and the grounds were absolutely breathtaking. The host provided lots of suggestions for activities and places to shop/eat. We had trouble getting reservations at any of the places with a party our size but we just grocery shopped and enjoyed the property. Would stay again!
Lovely house and gardens, plenty of room for a family get together. It was nice that each bedroom had access to an ensuite or bathroom. The pool table was a great addition and kept both big kids and little kids entertained. We had snow while we were there and having the log burner and extra radiators to hand was great for keeping warm. Communication with host was great.
Despite some fairly mixed weather we, a large family with four daughters and three grandkids, had a holiday that everyone will remember for a long long time. The house is large/spacious and well equipped, set in an extensive and truly wonderful garden backing onto a river. When the weather finally turned we had a couple of beautiful evenings playing frisbee and bbq’ing in the garden (though the bbq could do with a bit of tlc). Silvia was quick to respond to all our quirky questions and all in all we had a wonderful week enjoying the house, garden and beautiful countryside - with so much to do! - in the Trossachs that I remember so well from my youth. We’d all strongly recommend - even the unique experience offered by the welcoming owner of the Byre Inn, next door, who provided some of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time.
This house was perfect for our extended family. There were several gatherings spots, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the outside gardens were beautiful and relaxing. We took several day trips and each night came home for dinner. We had phenomenal sunny warm weather and one afternoon just sat in the garden and chilled.
Communication with the owner was swift and easy.
Perfect for a Scotland vacation.

Beautiful property with amazing garden
We enjoyed our stay generally very much. Absolutely not satisfying was the contact with the owner. The day before arrival we had to take contact to receive instructions of how to take over the house. There was no reception or instruction at all. Because the heating system was controlled remote by the owner, we had to contact them several times to get bedrooms heated. After three days, there was no more contact possible, just no answer! The nearby Pub is not an asset at all, a real messy place!

Scottish House near Callanndar
This was a lovely house set in impressive grounds. The house was as described and ideal for the extended family of 10 staying. The kitchen and bathrooms were clean but some rooms would have benefitted from a deep clean. The location allowed us to visit a wide range of lovely places - we loved Scotland.
The property, garden and location are ideal for a family holiday. Our group of 5 adults and 3 children had a very enjoyable week, with many outdoor activities to enjoy close by.
We could not get over the views in the morning. The location was perfect and allowed us to go on long walks without having to get into the car. Very well equipped home with a lovely kitchen with space to enjoy meals together. The pub at the end of the road was a bonus! The local store was surprisingly well stocked. Day trips to Edinburgh and the Wallace Monument kept the tourists in our party happy.

Dundarroch
Fantastic house with sublime views and location .
Well equipped and worked well for 3 families together with loads of shared space .
Would highly recommend .
Dundarroch matched our expectations, facilities excellent for a large family group. Plenty of space tastefully furnished and great bathroom facilities to make our stay stress free. And a minute walk to the local pub. Our only criticism was that there should have been an extra single put up bed to accommodate a family with three children.
We were sorry to leave.
