At the center of the property is its most unforgettable feature: a private natural swimming pool and fresh water pond with viewing windows. The chemical-free pool is connected to a thriving aquatic ecosystem perfectly balanced to filter and pump crystal clear water back into the pool. Stepping stones and glass windows around the pond connect you to an underwater world of wildlife.

Whether you are cooling off after a morning at the beach or watching toucans from the water’s edge, it is the ultimate space to decompress and reconnect with nature.

Natural Pool & Freshwater Pond
A one of a kind living water feature with a dedicated regeneration aquarium, freshwater fish, and a glass viewing section from the yoga deck and lower patio. Chemical free, beautifully designed, and deeply calming.

The Home
Three spacious bedrooms each customizable with the option of one king-sized or two twin beds and two full bathrooms provide comfortable accommodation for families, couples, or friends traveling together. The layout allows for both connection and privacy, making it ideal for longer stays or work from paradise.

Indoor Outdoor Living
The open concept living areas flow directly into the gardens, creating a spacious and airy sanctuary designed for slow mornings, long lunches, and relaxed evenings. You will find double sliding glass doors between the indoor and outdoor living spaces and the kitchen and dining area. The covered outdoor dining, lounge and designated work areas allow you to enjoy the outdoors rain or shine.

Modern Comfort
Fast WiFi for remote work, comfortable bedding, a fully equipped kitchen for cooking with local ingredients, and thoughtful details throughout the home. Bathrooms have the option of a handheld or luxurious rainshower head! Each bedroom features a double closet with hanging space, storage baskets, corner desk and individual AC unit for custom temperature control for each room.

Wildlife in the Garden
Guests have spotted incredible wildlife on and around the property including toucans, great green macaws, and other bird species, green dart frogs and other amphibians, Basiliscus lizards and other reptiles, several butterfly species including blue morpho, howler and capuchin monkeys, and two and three-fingeres sloths! Wildlife moves around the area freely & naturally so specific sightings cannot be guaranteed. For guaranteed, up-close wildlife viewing we suggest a tour of the nearby Jaguar Rescue Center (less than a ten minute drive).

Leave the car behind. You are just a five minute stroll from the golden sands of Playa Chiquita and within walking distance of the area’s best dining, cafés, and boutique shops.

Our property is immersed in the Caribbean jungle, offering a truly unique and authentic nature experience. Even though it is conveniently located near shops, restaurants, and the main road, the home itself feels surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, giving you the best of both easy access and a peaceful jungle setting.

The pond on the property is part of a natural ecosystem where you will see fish and occasionally different types of amphibians, including frogs and toads. To preserve the delicate balance of our pool's adjacent living water system, guests are required to shower before entering the pool. This simple ritual keeps damaging lotions, sunscreen, and oils out of the water, ensuring the ecosystem remains healthy and crystal clear.

This area is rich in biodiversity, and it’s common to see a wide variety of birds, as well as wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, raccoons, and other native species. You may also spot a kinkajou, as well as a tolomuco, both of which are part of the local fauna.

The house itself is fully enclosed, so indoor spaces remain clean and comfortable, and it’s very unlikely that you’ll encounter wildlife inside. Outdoor areas, however, are naturally shared with the surrounding environment.

Living in this setting means being connected to nature at all times. The presence of wildlife is part of what makes this location so special. If you’re looking to disconnect and experience the beauty of the Caribbean rainforest up close while still being close to everything this is the perfect place.

PETS
Villa del Alma accepts pets with approval. Please note that there is a $35 per night
charge for pets and we request an additional deposit to cover any potential damage to
the home.
Please note that we will never discriminate against an animal because of its breed! We
love all dogs and both the owner and management company volunteer and donate to
help care for dogs in the area. Our main priority is the safety of wildlife in our garden
and the safety of your pet. Please let us know if you are interested in bringing your pet
so that we can discuss everything further for the approval process.
If pets are brought onto the property without prior approval, the $35 per night charge
plus a $100 fine will be taken out of your deposit and any additional damages not
covered by the remaining deposit will be claimed through your booking agency.

LAUNDRY
We offer laundry service for a fee throughout your stay. If you would like personal items
cleaned or a refresh on sheets and towels please let us know. The fee is $20 per load
and this includes pickup, cleaning, drying, folding, and delivery. Delivery is typically
within 24 hours (not including Sundays and holidays). Please confirm if you have
specific time constraints before pickup to ensure there are no issues. Same day return
might be possible if scheduled in advance, but there may be an additional fee. We do
not recommend including delicate items or items that cannot go in the dryer. Laundry
service is provided by a third party. We do not profit from this or take part of the fees but
simply want to offer our guests this convenience if required.
