We very much enjoyed our stay and will be back. The two cabinas is nice for couples and the pool was refreshing. We rented bikes and were within a few minutes of beaches and town.

We had a very good stay at the Bodhi and Nirvana houses. We rented the 2 houses for our large family; plenty of space on the grounds, gazebo and the pool for the children to play. Also, the beach nearby is a very convenient option. The 2 houses very very clean and comfortable (AC in each bedroom, quite difficult to find in this area); however, for 8 persons, the dishes in the kitchen are somewhat scarce (we cooked many meals in the house) and the living area (inside) has only 2 armchairs in each house. The weather was nice, so we were always outside, but, if the week had been rainy, the inside spaces would have been a bit small for the 8 persons.

My family and I stayed for two nights at the Bodhi House. The check-in was efficient and overall house was clean. The walled compound has three houses, two smaller which shares a small pool and one larger with a large pool. Both pools were unfortunately under repair when we got there but the kids got to swim in the large one on the second day as no one was staying in the larger house. The house is located across from El Duende Gourmet, a small grocery store probably the closest to Manazanillo. Although you can hear the occasional traffic, the walls made the compound feel separated from the outside flow. The kitchen, as with the furnishings, was equipped with adequate but minimal utensils, plates and cups for four. Only two armchairs and no sofa so hard to hangout as a group in the house. Overall, the house felt clean and relatively new. A little small and out of place in the more low-key environs of Puerto Viejo but it was a nice respite as we had stayed in some other more rustic and “adventurous” lodgings. Water pressure made it tough to take a shower but if this is a concern, eco conscious Costa Rica is probably not the right destination. One complaint, screened windows would have been nice in the bedrooms as you have to sleep with them closed at night and the A/C on due to the mosquitos.

We were two families of 4 in the smaller houses on the property. The property, the houses, and the location couldn't be better. Receiving the key and getting a review of the houses went smoothly. We settled in very quickly with the comfort of the homes. The property was beautiful and each morning so many different types of birds could be seen flying around the tops of the trees. Day and night we could hear howler monkeys - a beautiful sound. There are many great restaurants in walking distance, as well as the best chocolate farm I have ever been to and the Jaguar Refuge. Of course, there are many unbelievable beaches within walking distance.
The only thing about the house that I would change is the addition of a couch. There are two comfortable chairs but with 4 people, a couch would have been better. Not a deal breaker though. My criticism of the stay is that there is a store across the street (very convenient) that very often had idling cars and trucks. The other downside to our stay was the smell of the garbage that was piled up on the other side of the wall. A large pile of garbage sat in the sun for three days. I think it is the designated garbage dump for the store and the surrounding area. The smell at times was unbearable. Not sure why it was there for so long - maybe it was because of the holiday??
Overall, the house and property were 5-star but the noise and smell from the street were annoying.

Our stay was amazing! The hosts were on top of it with communication. They even organized our river rafting trip which I would recommend! The resort is safe and secure and the grounds are taken care of beautifully. The pool was so refreshing for our group of 6 adults. The beach walk is just a short walk away and there is a grocery store and restaurants right across the street. Our only downside was the wifi is very spotty. If there is a storm it won't work and it can take a long time to come back on and if there are multiple guests it runs slow. This isn't a downside if wifi isn't a big deal or you don't have business work to do. I would definitely recommend this property and stay there again if I return to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica.

We found this place to be perfect in location, cleanliness, communication with hosts, beautiful walk to beach, etc. The only problem is that my husband needed to work, and we had communicated that ahead of time. He usually has to jump into videoconferences. The internet connection was on and off and very weak for a videocall, due to a poor wireless signal, although they do have a fiber connection in the property. I guess the speed is good for email and general browsing. So all in, highly recommended, but avoid if you need good speed internet.

We had a great time. We stayed in both of the smaller Casitas. They were very clean and comfortable. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes. Rent bikes! We rode everywhere. The owners/managers of thr property checked in with us all the time to make sure we were happy. We would definitely come back.

We stayed for a week with four adults and a 9 month old baby. We rented both smaller houses and it was perfect size with pool. We flew into San Juan and drove to Playa Chiquita. Long drive but well worth it.
Property was well equipped and very beautiful. One of the few homes that have A/C in the bedrooms. Sounded like you were in Jurassic Park with all the howler monkeys and flocks of parrots every morning. Even saw a sloth on the tree above!
Wi-Fi was a little slow but it is the jungle so what do you expect. Beach is within walking distance but go check out playa grande.
Can’t wait to come back. The owner stayed same time as us and was very friendly. Beautiful country.

Perfect space for a couples getaway. The casitas are set up for proximity and privacy. It was a really great layout for our small crew and conveniently located near the main road and a mini supermarket, yet safely tucked away and secure. If you've into design and aesthetics this is a great spot.

The property is amazing. The styling, indoor and outdoor furnishings and amenities are top notch. We enjoyed our stay and used bicycles for most local sites and errands.
The only annoying thing was having no written instructions for anything about the house. Since we arrived late in the evening and were tired, we didn’t press the property manager for more explanation of anything and some things just can’t be figured out, like how to use the safe, oven, pool lighting, etc.
Overall, it was a lovely week.

We were two families with small children staying in the two houses. Great location with a great supermarket across the road, lovely beach within walking distance and many others close by, and many good restaurants as well. The houses were comfortable and clean - no bugs!. The gardens were great for the kids to run around and the pool was smallish but fine for a refreshing dip. The only things I felt were missing (and why only 4 stars) were any unbreakable glasses and plates for kids, and more hooks or places for hanging wet things to dry. Overall a great place to stay and we would definitely go back.

This is a great property, especially for families. Beautiful, sparkling clean bungalows. Nice pool. Well equipped kitchen. A/C - not easy to find in this area! Easy walk to the beach. Great location - easy exploring of all the Puerto Viejo/Manzanillo area has to offer. Right across from a well stocked convenience store. The only draw back is the noise at night/early morning from motorcycles/cars, as the houses are close to the main road.
