Hi Chris Thanks for your stay and taking the time to review. As I replied to your email at the time, there is NOT a snake in the roof, we are in a tree lined setting with a lake behind so we do get visited by the friendly neighbourhood possums on occasion, I was not aware that the bath tap was running thanks for pointing this out so I can try to get repaired in between guests stays, we are waiting on a handyman to attend to look at the toilet door etc. In regard to the ant infestation, ants can come into any home for many reasons, this did happen after a few days of your stay they could have come in looking for food left out etc. Once you notified me, I had our pest inspector contractor on site within 2 hours (they had conducted a pest treatment only 3 months ago) and they conducted a treatment for the ants. For the fantastic location and general standard of the property accommodating up to 6 and the fact that earlier this year had couches updated, completely painted inside, new window treatments, new bathroom vanities etc we feel the home represents very good value for money. Hi Jo Thanks for your stay with us and taking the time to review your stay. I appreciate the fact that you have pointed out the 2 loose struts on the balcony so I can get these addressed. There are a few points in your review that I feel are an unfair reflection of our holiday home. The cleaners we have are amazing and do a fantastic job cleaning the home and dis-infecting everything to ensure a clean home, the fact that you felt you needed to do this is your impression and I feel that you may of booked the wrong style of home. We offer a relaxed holiday home environment and whilst the cupboards are old they are functional we are preparing to replace the vanity cupboards in the near future, but these are clean. If you compare our property on price for its location of 1 street from the beach in a very quiet peaceful location offering 4 bedrooms with a fully grassed lawn area out the back we feel it represents great value for money and we have priced the rates with the style of accommodation in mind it is not a new luxury home which the photos represent as does the price point. This is a holiday home rented on short term basis and during non peak times the home can be vacant for regular periods mid week etc which means we are not raking in $1400per week/$200 per night consistently as you mention, yes your stay cost that amount which again for 4 adults in a 4 bedroom home is great value it would cost similar to stay in a motel or caravan park. To say that we are arrogant to charge this amount is offensive, owning a property in Dunsborough is not cheap and homes are expensive to buy and maintain I can assure you that there is no growing pile of surplus rent, the amount of nights that the home is rented has definitely increased over the recent period, however this does not cover the mortgage many homeowners are in the same position.
