Can't Get Any Closer To The River!

NOTE: AWD or 4WD vehicles are REQUIRED to rent this cabin.
IMPORTANT NOTES BELOW DETAILS REGARDING PETS AND ADDITIONAL BOOKING REQUIREMENTS.

Fish, swim, river tube, hike, seclusion on a gorgeous stretch of the Toe River, right outside the front door, literally! It is obvious the moment you walk in the door how much the owners love this special place. It boasts comfort and charm throughout.

The highlight of this special cabin is its location on the Toe River. You simply can't get any better than this. You could actually toss a stone from the front porch and hit water. Over hanging the river is a large deck. A unique feature along the river. Adult guests can relax or fish right off the deck while kids swim in the deep swim hole immediately below, or river tube. River tubes are available for rent at Patience Park (not far away). Drop in the river outside the cabin then ride the river to return! There's even a outdoor hot shower!

At the end of a day filled playing in the water, consider a hike around the property on the carved out property trails. Once night falls, sit around a roaring bonfire (also riverside) sharing the memories of the day while roasting marshmallows.

Riverdance is conveniently located between the quaint mountain down town areas of Burnsville and Spruce Pine. Both offer dining, shopping and convenience to many adventurous mountain activities you're coming to the mountains to enjoy. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is approximately 15 minutes from Riverdance and boasts THE most amazing long range views east of the Mississippi River. In fact, Burnsville is home to Mt. Mitchell, which has the highest elevation this side of the Rocky Mountains 6000 ft above sea level. Climb the lookout platform and you have 360 degrees views that stretch for miles. Hiking, commercial river rafting, horseback riding, zip lining, Crabtree Falls, Linville Falls and caverns, Grandfather Mountain, the Altapass Apple Orchard are all no more than 10 minutes to an hours drive. Asheville, home of the infamous Biltmore Estate is approximately an hour away. Contact me to send you web links to any of the above or other activities of interest perhaps not mentioned above.

We’ve done our best to make packing for a stay at Riverdance a breeze. Pack a suitcase with your personal belongings and a grocery list for a quick stop as you roll into Burnsville. You won’t need much else as Riverdance is kept stocked with dish cleaning supplies (including a brand new kitchen sponge for each new guest stay), laundry soap, and coffee filters for the auto drip coffee maker. Each new guest stay is provided a roll of paper towels and a couple of rolls of toilet paper to get their stay started. Guests must supply their own replenishments of paper products, but what is supplied should suffice for a stay of up to 5 to 7 nights (depending on number of guests staying).

OTHER NOTES OF IMPORTANCE:

Just Book It!
This is a beautiful spot, and you won't regret staying here. The cabin was perfect for our family + dog, and the river is just amazing. We enjoyed the kayaks, hikes, and relaxation on the deck overlooking the water. Our dog will never forgive us for taking him back home - this was a slice of heaven for him!

Peace and Tranquility
Beautiful, quiet, clean, simple and sublime. All that was needed, nothing that was not. The river provided a gorgeous view and peaceful sound, the fireplace kept us warm during the chilly nights- in all, a wonderful stay.

Much neeed retreat
Lovely comfortable cabin right on the river. We were there in early November. Cabin is easy to move into, easy propane heater for chilly nights, big covered porch with plenty of chairs, small outdoor fire ring at edge of river. Plenty of wood. Secluded, quiet, always the sound of water through tiny rapids. Easy to finally get a deep breath, especially walking up the steep drive and into wide open views of spreading hills and mountains:)). Leaves falling, met a great , friendly dog to walk with, practiced rock hopping out in the river, pretended to read while just taking it all in. Got some grounding before heading home. Already looking for dates to come again.

An absolutely amazing location. The cabin is great and despite the illusion of a small space, there was ample room for 4. We truly loved our stay.

Quiet getaway
When they say you need 4wd you do. Its not a property you want to drive out of every day. The river was the perfect place for our dog to play. The cabin was quaint but the door locks need upgrading and replacement. The only way to lock the door is using the deadbolt key, which leaves you venerable if there is a fire. The kitchen door handle came off in my hubands hand. Paper towels and firestarters were low quality. For the amount of money spending to stay at this property, higher quality products would be nice. We stay at a cabin ever year and the owners or management team always leave a welcome basket for the incoming guest. Simple things like trial bars, peanuts, and if you have a pet, a dog treat. We did not receive any welcome package. Kitchen had a lot of tools but lacked measuring cups (unless i missed them). I bring supplies to make homemade pancakes etc and could not find any measuring tools. The cabin is very cute, and the setting was beautiful and quiet. Management team was very good when my husband left his backpack, to ship this back to us the next day.

Riverdance
This property is amazing! The host thought of everything from the towel and blanket for the dogs ( in their own little basket by the door) to the clean foil on the grill. The cabin was spotless and smelled so fresh when we first opened the door. The kitchen had everything you would need to prepare meals. The little touches throughout the cabin just made it feel comfortable and cozy. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back!
