The best area to stay in Burgomillodo is around the Burgomillodo Reservoir itself, particularly in the villages directly bordering its shores.

This area is centred around the stunning Burgomillodo Reservoir, a large body of water superb for various activities. The landscape is characterised by rolling hills, pine forests, and the tranquil waters of the reservoir, creating a peaceful and scenic environment. You'll find a few small, traditional villages dotted along the shoreline, each offering a relaxed pace of life.

For families, staying in one of the villages like Carrascal del Río or Fuentidueña offers a wonderful retreat. These villages provide a quiet base with easy access to the reservoir for water sports like kayaking or paddleboarding. Many accommodations here are rural houses or guesthouses with outdoor space, superb for children to play and for families to enjoy nature together.

Couples seeking a tranquil escape will also find the reservoir area ideal. The serenity of the surroundings, coupled with opportunities for walks along the water's edge or through the nearby forests, creates a romantic setting.

When planning your visit to Burgomillodo, the best times to go are during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October).

These months offer pleasant weather, with comfortable temperatures that are ideal for outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and exploring the natural beauty of the region. You'll avoid the intense heat of mid-summer and the colder, sometimes unpredictable, weather of winter. The natural landscapes are particularly picturesque during these seasons, with blooming flora in spring and rich autumnal colours later in the year.

For those planning to explore the surrounding countryside and engage in water sports on the Embalse de Burgomillodo, late spring is particularly good. The days are longer, and the water is warming up, making it superb for kayaking or paddleboarding without the peak season crowds.

Early autumn is also a superb choice, especially for couples looking for a tranquil escape. The temperatures remain mild, and the changing leaves provide a stunning backdrop for walks and drives.
