Tugella Cottage is a pretty, detached cottage which has been recently fully refurbished. It is set in a quiet, central position in the historic market town of Stratton. It is within a two minute walk of village amenities, including Post Office, local store, two pubs and church. The tourist town of Bude with its excellent beaches, canal side setting, wide variety of shops, restaurants and pubs is a 5 minute drive away or 30 minute walk. There is a also a local bus service to Bude and surrounding area.

The cottage is set in an enclosed garden with lockable shed to store bikes/body boards etc. There is private parking for 2 cars to the front and side of property. It is accessed from the road via a drive-way and five bar gate. The property and garden have views of open fields to the rear.

All rooms on ground and first floor have level access.

The accommodation offers:
TWO BEDROOMS: 1 double with views over open fields to the rear of the property and 1 twin with zip-and-link beds which will be made up as single beds unless specified in the booking that super-king size bed is required. Please note that if this option is selected two single duvets will be provided. The twin room has space for a travel cot. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes/cupboards.
BATHROOM: with thermostatic shower over bath and WC. There is a mirror over the wash basin.
LOUNGE/DINER: double aspect room with TV with freeview, DVD player, large 2 seater sofa and further 2 seater sofa, extending dining table.
KITCHEN: well equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
OUTSIDE: off-road parking for 2 cars, garden to the side with garden furniture and wash line. There is a lockable garden shed for bicycles/body boards etc which also contains BBQ and buckets and spades.
AMENITIES: bed linen and towels included in rent. Full gas central heating. Regret no smoking in the property.
LOCATION: 2 pubs, store and post office within 200 yards. Beach 2 miles.

PLEASE NOTE additonal information outside:
The 5 bar gate also provides access to a garage belonging to a different property and so needs to be kept clear of vehicles. Adjoining the vehicular gate is a pedestrian gate which provides access across the property's land to the rear of a couple of properties. Note that this does not run across the garden or paved areas or close to the property and is not frequently used.
There is a small slope at the side of the property which leads to a locked gate and area to the rear which also belongs to the property but which is not accessible to guests.

Cost cottage
Lovely cosy cottage. All the contact with owner was very good and everything explained fully about the cottage. The parking was good but the roads out are very narrow and it’s a long walk into Bude on a busy road. The buses are unreliable too so we had to always drive into Bude which was quiet in October but I’m sure would be different in the tourist season. Overall for us we liked the cottage very much.

Excellent week at Tugella Cottage
Everything was really clean and tidy and ready for us. The only downside was that there is no mobile signal 'O2' in Stratton village so we had to rely heavily on the wifi. Other than that we had a good stay with the weather to match.

Sweet cottage near Bude
This is a lovely little cottage in the old part of Stratton with private parking. The property is a little on the spartan side and there are no condiments which we normally find in rental properties. We had a lovely stay there.

Easy to find, private and quiet. Perfect for that restful getaway. Easy access to Bude and surrounding areas. Local pub very friendly and informative. Local post office/general store has got everything and nothing is too much trouble. Monday night must have Jamaican food truck down the road, amazing.

Fab spot perfect for our family of 4 plus dog
Loved the quiet location. Clean and with everything we needed. Great spot with 2 lovely pubs and a great corner shop. Walked down to Bude in 30 mins for sup, surfing and perfect base for exploring the coast. Hosts were quick to respond to messages and very helpful. Milk tea and biscuits were a lovely touch Recommended.
