"Amazing location with fabulous staff - highly recommend"

"This is a budget hotel so you get what you pay for. Room was clean enough but not pristine, The bed was firm but comfortable, room was small but functional. Excellent location next to the Bruges train station. Breakfast was a good value at $13 Euro as you could make lunch for the day as well. Front desk staff were excellent and very accomodating. They can store your luggage if you need to check out but want to spend the day in Bruges."

"We stayed for one night checked in late and out early and my son was bitten over a dozen times during the night all over his body. The hotels response was rather inappropriate and concerning. See below: They refused to offer any compensation and asserted that we should have known to purchase repellent from the vending machine. We have traveled all over Europe and never experienced this type of treatment. We were not told at check-in that this may occur and never dreamed of purchasing repellent from a vending machine. They do not care about their guests or their comfort and their lack of empathy is appalling. Even worse Expedia was not willing to offer compensation besides a $25 one key credit. We are no longer customers of Expedia and highly recommend travelers avoid this hotel at all costs. Shame on you Gateway Ghent and Expedia for not providing a safe experience for your guests. Hotels Response: (I understand that it is unpleasant to be bitten by insects during your stay; however, we believe this is characteristic of the current season. Because we are fully aware of this issue, we provide a stock of protective sprays in our vending machines. In this case, we do not feel that compensation is applicable. We hope that, despite the insects, you had an enjoyable stay and we look forward to welcoming you back to Getaway Studios Gent in the future.)"

"Only stayed here for one night, but can say without any hesitation that this is a superb hotel. Clean, stylishly appointed rooms, with a cosy layout, but more than sufficient space. Staff were helpful and the hotel is extremely conveniently located just down from Dampoort train station and about a 15 min walk from the main town square. Highly recommended and will definitely be happy to return some day."
