  • The Basilica of the Holy Blood is a Roman Catholic minor basilica in Bruges, Belgium. Originally built in the 12th century as the chapel of the residence of the Count of Flanders, the church houses a venerated relic of the Holy Blood allegedly collected by Joseph of Arimathea and brought from the Holy Land by Thierry of Alsace, Count of Flanders. Built between 1134 and 1157, it was promoted to minor basilica in 1923. The 12th-century basilica is located in the Burg square and consists of a lower and upper chapel. The lower chapel dedicated to St. Basil the Great is a dark Romanesque structure that remains virtually unchanged. The venerated relic is in the upper chapel, which was rebuilt in the Gothic style during the 16th century and renovated multiple times during the 19th century in Gothic Revival style. Bruges is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country. The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. Along with a few other canal-based northern cities, such as Amsterdam, it is sometimes referred to as The Venice of the North. Bruges has a significant economic importance thanks to its port and was once one of the world's chief commercial cities. A cosy and well looked after Guest House with a generous and delicious continental buffet breakfast. Fleur (the host) is very welcoming and multilingual. Well recommended for visiting Brugge. 20 mins walk into the city centre or buses regularly run from close to the door.

All the touches of home. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. Very quiet. I often wondered if I were the only guest, only to come down each day to find the breakfast room full of people! The breakfast was outstanding! Thank you!

We arrived late at night and the hotel was not that easy to find as no particular sign was visible from the street. Once passed that moment, we pushed the doors of what was a realm of cozyness and calm. the tiny lounge nearby the entrance was a clear expression of that. Room was big enough to accomodate the four of us, despite the closing of the window was broken, we had a quiet and restful night. Breakfast was huge and a tasty moment to start the day, giving us energy to stroll in Brugges streets. and our host was kind, warm and helpful. I warmly recommend the place!!

Nice hotel, exactly what you'd expect from a building like this. Having to take your shoes off when inside the building was fun. We were in front family room, so was a fair amount of traffic noise in the morning but it didn't bother us. Glass sliding doors for the toilet was weird mind you. Overall perfectly nice

Wir hatten 4 Nächte im Doppelzimmer gebucht, das Zimmer war geschmackvoll mit alten Möbeln eingerichtet. Leider gab es nur einen Nachttisch und der Schrank roch recht antik. Die Fenster waren etwas in die Jahre gekommen und nach dem Duschen statt hinterher alles konstruktionsbedingt unter Wasser. Unser Zimmer ging nach hinten raus und war ruhig. Für uns etwas eigentümlich für ein Hotel war, dass wir unsere Schuhe ausziehen mussten und nur in Latschen aufs Zimmer durften. Achtung, vorher mit der Unterkunft in Kontakt treten, um die Check-in-Zeit zu vereinbaren, es ist anscheinend regulär nur vormittags jmd. dort. Die Eigentümerin haben wir nur am Ankunftstag angetroffen. Die übrigen Tagen wurde sie von Ingrid vertreten, die das super lecker, reichhaltige Frühstück zu bereitet hat. Echt ein Highlight!!! Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe einer Bushaltestelle, die Altstadt von Brügge erreicht man fußläufig in ca. 10 Min.

Er was geen badkamer bij onze kamer die ergens achter de eetzaal was verstopt. Ook was er geen fohn en de schoonmaak kon wel extra aandacht verdienen. Er zou parkeergelegenheid aanwezig zijn maar ze vergeten te vermelden dat er €15.00 p/d bijkomt. Het gehele pand kan wel een update gebruiken.

Het was een gezellig hotel. Gastvrouw was erg vriendelijk en maakte altijd wel even een praatje. Ontbijt was top. Genoeg te doen en gezien in Brugge. Een klein minpuntje : misschien wat meer tv kanalen op de televisie. Nu had je maar 3 belgische kanalen.

Le petit déjeuner était très bien mais la chambre très petite ainsi que la salle d'eau avec ,un lave-mains en guise de lavabo. Dommage, nous sommes mal tombés sinon l'accueil était super.

La struttura avrebbe bisogno di un qualche lavoretto di ristrutturazione, anche il "giardinetto" interno su cui affacciava la nostra camera, era tenuto molto male, noi nella nostra camera avevamo il lavandino a fianco del letto, mentre nell'altra camera, attaccato al fondo del letto hanno lasciato un mobile che soffocava ulteriormente la mini stanza! Per il resto essendo un due stelle forse non ci si deve aspettare di più! La colazione è spettacolare, buonissima, variegata e molto abbondante, penso sia l'unica cosa che merita un punto più che pieno! Il perosonale gentilissimo e super disponibile!

Hote tres sympathique, Hotel et quartier calme Petit hotel tres propre et tres sympahtique, tres bien placé, a proximité du centre ville, tout est faisavble a pied ou service de bus. Tres bon petit dejeuné, tres bon rapport qualite prix. Tres chouette sejour a Brugge et dans cet hotel.

Agreable sejour à Bruges

Agreable sejour dans cet hotel. Petit dejeuner copieux de 8h à 10h. Propre, on ne monte pas dans les chambres avec les chaussures. A 10 minutes a pied du Markt. A une trentaine de minutes de la gare.
