"Besides the super friendly staff, everything else was terrible. Building smelled like a wet dog. Our room floor was damp. The “crib” the website says they provide is actually just a raggedy super old playpen. My 15 month old was trying to hard to get comfortable but ultimately had to sleep with us in bed (the mattress of the playpen kept sliding). If I’m ever in Kentucky, I’ll make sure to never stay here again."

"The room was very nice! Only reason I took of a star is because it’s almost impossible to park the spots are so small then when you do you can barely squeeze out without hitting the car next to you with your door. This is not good for traveling if you need to unload anything from the back seat. The pillows are flat and the bed blanket is like paper thin. Other then those complaints great place to stop for a night and pet friendly for our pup!"

"Everything was very clean, staff exceptionally friendly. The double queen room we stayed in was cozy and comfy. There is no table in the room so dont plan on eating in the room, which isnt a big deal as they have delicious food at the lodge. Breakfast buffet is one of the best we ever had! Biggest complaint...good coffee is hard to find! They have a Starbucks inside for drinks only but between the line one day and the staff who stands around chitchatting and not engaging with any of the customers being a huge turnoff so we didnt order from there. The rooms are a longer walking distance from the lodge than one may expect. None of the soda machines near the rooms worked so make sure you have your water bottle, they have refilling stations for these at the lodge. I recommend taling self guided tours first The historic tour was awesome except the speed..they walk you past many picture worthy spots without explanations or time to snap photos. The front of the pack is crowded and hard to enjoy and see things and the back of the pack has to practically run to keep up. If you tour at the end of the day its worse and the ranger will yell at you to move faster and that lagging behind is dangerous amd you are falling too far behind the group...even though the group is around the corner. Stay close to front if you want to hear but closer to back if you need space and have smaller kids because they get lost in crowd easy and most people are oblivious to families trying to stay together."
