"The apartment is really well decorated, despite being an older building, and was comfortable as a base for our weekend in the area. There are a few original features I was pleased to see preserved, like the fireplace and hearth in the living area. The location is within walking distance of the harbour area where there was a food market during our visit, and some decent cafes. There’s also a supermarket less than 5 mins walk away for supplies. "Pros: Good value Excellent location in Cockermouth (especially bakery over the road!) Decent size for a couple Cheap parking nearby Easy to find and access Cons: Squashy uncomfortable mattress Needs blackout blinds/curtains No freezer, could use more glasses, crockery etc. We spent four lovely nights here and if the bed and blackout were improved then we’d happily return. "
