"Good spot, a cut above most in the price range. The included breakfast was great, had nice sausage medallions, biscuits & gravy, eggs, waffles, plus the usual stuff. Comfortable bed!"

"I would rate my room itself as a 7/10. Some issues in the bathroom but appeared clean overall. Housekeeping was parked in the hall blocking room at 7 pm at night? The main problem was my room was on the back side of the hotel and a major street which led to the Interstate was right there! Sounded like drag racing every half hour between cars and motorcycles racing to beat the light or just accelerating to race each other. It was ALL NIGHT! Chairs in the dining area were so dirty after looking at 10 i finally found one I could put a napkin on and sit. The rest were disgusting. Best thing - THE STAFF! Hotel clerk was helpful and very sweet. Cook in the morning was very friendly and a great cook! I would not stay here again just knowing the problem with the noise. Hope they improve cleanliness. "

"My son and I spent Christmas at Kathi's Captain’s Quarters near Helena, and it was unforgettable. The view alone is worth the trip—this home isn’t just near the lake, it is on the lake. Waking up to sunrise over the water while sitting in the hot tub felt like a gift in itself.The cabin was spotless and stocked far beyond what we expected. Every detail felt thoughtful, from the kitchen supplies to the little conveniences that made our stay effortless. Kathi even decorated for Christmas, which made the space feel warm, festive, and welcoming the moment we walked in.The location is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. We loved relaxing by the fireplace, and we were delighted when deer wandered right up to the door. It felt like stepping into a winter postcard.Kathi was an exceptional host—responsive, kind, and genuinely invested in making our stay special. She even watched our little dog, Mazy, so we could explore the area without worry. That level of care is rare and so appreciated.We will absolutely be returning again and again. The Captain’s Quarters has become one of our favorite places, and we can’t wait for our next stay."

"If you are looking for remote, this might be your spot! We stayed as a family of 13 for 4 days after Christmas 2025. The home is a beautiful custom log home. The best things were the beautiful wood burning fireplace, the big open living area, the outfitted kitchen, the hot tub, and pool table. We had a little snow, but if there had been more, you might need a four wheel drive to get up the mountain road which is 6 miles off a secondary highway. The setting once there is quiet and beautiful, just perfect for family photos. We were a little put off by the late check in time (5:00 pm in December is dark!) and we had some cleanliness issues. However, even though it was a holiday, the local host was responsive. For other recommendations, the outdoor fire table needs better ventilation, and some of the outdoor furniture was broken. The hosts should also consider having a high chair on site for littles. The garbage containers should be larger and possibly one for recycling might be a good idea. Additionally, we found lamps that needed new lightbulbs, and remotes that needed new batteries. Be aware that field mice in remote locations are always an issue, and this was evident. The host provided access to more traps, and there was plenty of sine-age telling guests to not leave doors open. Overall, our stay was pleasant. The house is warm and comfortable. We were disappointed that Christmas decorating was not a part of the stay. "
