About this property
Brevard Cabin - mountain views, lake access, golf, close to hiking & waterfalls
Welcome to “Awesomeness Outpost” - your private mountain retreat with long range views, a peaceful outdoor area, and a cabin atmosphere located in southwestern North Carolina. If you’re looking for vintage cabin charm just minutes away from world class mountain biking, hiking, waterfalls, golf, trout fishing, and quaint downtown Brevard, then this is it!
This home has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, sleeps 6 (1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Twins), and is located in the gated resort community of Connestee Falls. Within 1 mile of the cabin, you can access a beautiful mountain golf course, clubhouse with two restaurants, four non-motorized lakes perfect for kayaking & fishing, olympic-sized heated pool (during pool season), tennis, pickleball, 13 miles of hiking trails, and a wellness center.
The cabin includes an inviting main level with updated kitchen and wood stove, open loft with mountain views, spacious casual basement with a bar, and a private outdoor area with fire pit, two decks, and a charcoal grill. The king and queen bedrooms are located on the main floor along with a full bath and washer/dryer. The open loft features two twin beds, half bath, and desk. The basement includes a flat screen smart TV with casual living area, full bathroom and plenty of space for relaxing.
**IMPORTANT NOTE** the basement steps are steep so please keep this in mind if you have mobility issues; there is a hand rail and the stairs have carpet on them; also the basement is significantly cooler than the rest of the house; we have blankets and a heater to keep you warm during cooler months and its a perfect hangout during warmer months. We do not want this to affect our reviews or ratings.
Additionally, this cabin is mountain biker friendly and includes a workshop containing all the tools needed to wash or repair your ride after a long day shredding the local trails.
You’ll be minutes away from DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, Caesar’s Head State Park, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Downtown Brevard is a short drive away with restaurants, shops, breweries, festivals, and more. Downtown Asheville and the Biltmore Estate are within an hour drive.
Community amenities included at no additional fee - clubhouse access, lake, pool, tennis, pickleball, and hiking (golf and wellness center usage fees required). The rental fee also includes 2 stand up paddle boards and two kayaks that can be accessed from the lake located within a mile of the house. Cabin amenities include free high-speed wifi, HD smart television, wood stove, charcoal grill, washer/dryer, linens/towels, fire pit (will restrict use if we have fire danger conditions or drought), hammock, and more!
Cell service is spotty but our internet service is very fast; we recommend turning on WiFi calling so you can still receive calls. Again, we do not want the lack of cell service to affect our ratings and reviews, so please take this into consideration when booking our house; the internet is very fast and will support device streaming and video calls. The house has no land line phone.
The cabin's driveway is flat, but narrow ; we can fit up to 3 cars but not side by side. The driveway is gravel and not paved.
Our house is located on a mountain community; there are a lot of hills (some very steep) and the street where our house is located is not suited for walking/jogging; we have walking paths and trails for these activities but one will have to drive to get to these areas.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was clean and had all of the amenities one could ever need. The hosts were friendly and communicated with us very well. Enjoyed the back deck and the views of the mountains beyond.
Stayed for a few days over Christmas. House was clean and comfy. The basement looks newly renovated and was a perfect spot to watch football and movies while enjoying some board games. We really appreciated the fully decorated Christmas tree since we were away from home. Great touch!
The beds were really comfortable and the view from the back deck is lovely. The owners are very generous. They have chairs that you can take to concerts and all kinds of games and books for children. The only thing we needed was our food. We had a few questions and they were very responsive.
The cabin is a perfect mountain retreat with beautiful views, on property hikes to fabulous waterfalls, and close proximity to quaint downtown Brevard. The hosts are amazing and made communication easy. I would give more stars if I could!

Summer stay
The back yard view is very nice, the upstairs patio is great to sit out enjoying coffee or a cocktail on. I wish there was a bedroom on the lower level to along with the 2nd bathroom. The owners were very attentive with our concerns and took care of making things right quickly.
We had a wondeful time! House was as described. Clean and had everything we needed. Only thing that would’ve made the stay better was having a yard. However, house is set in the moutainside so pretty hard to pull that off!! Hosts were communicative and pleasant!
We have been coming back for four years now. And it is always amazing. We come at Christmas and the house is wonderfully decorated. We spent six days hiking ,reading by the fire and exploring the town. The owners are amazing and always go the extra mile. Can’t wait to return. Hoping to try the spring or summer.
Our second time in Connestee Falls and first time at Awesomeness did not disappoint. Our family of five enjoyed the lodge type feel and the modern amenities offered to help make us feel at home. The multiple level decks offered great space for book reading and relaxation overlooking the much appreciated panarama. Added bonus are access to the developments resources including the owners kayak/SUP and pool time. Plenty to do in the area within reasonable driving distance of cool towns of Brevard and Hendersonville and only 40 minutes from Asheville. Make sure your vehicle is in good shape to handle the inclines! Thanks Carters for being super responsive prior and during our stay and we hope to one day return again!
The pictures of this home do not do it justice. When we walked in to the home, we immediately felt warm and cozy, and away from all of the hustle and bustle of busy every day life. The charm of this home is unmatched to any rental we have stayed in. The kids loved the upstairs and stuffed animals and even a telescope! They also loved being able to go to the basement and play games, do puzzles, and swing on the outdoor hammock. At night time, we roasted marshmallows and listen to music by the fire. The community is gorgeous, we got to play tennis and did several hikes. we would buy this home if we could! Thanks for the wonderful stay!
This cabin was an absolute jewel among all the listings in NC. We were so lucky that we were able to book the Awesomeness Outpost, and it did not disappoint. The place was immaculately clean with plenty of homey touches to make us feel like guests. Exceptional amenities with three bathrooms (two full and one half), plenty of games, a kitchen with every utensil, and a BEAUTIFUL view made it easy to accommodate our party of six and two dogs. The weather was poor during most of our stay, but we made the most of it in the cabin by playing games and watching a movie. When the weather improved, we built a fire and made smores. And the area is amazing, too! Brevard is a well-kept secret, similar to Asheville. We enjoyed the antique store, Highland Books, all of the diners and shops, and stopped for a beer at Griffon & Sphinx next to Area 22 Guitars. We are grateful we could stay here and cannot wait to come back.
We had a wonderful time here & enjoyed every minute of it. I was able to get some much-needed rest & we had everything we needed to make our own meals here. It was perfect.
We were visiting friends that live in the community and this house had everything we needed to be comfortable. The location was beautiful with plenty of things to do in the community. The kids really enjoyed swimming, pickle ball and particular hiking in the area.
