ORIDA Maidstone Hotel
8/10 Good
"Our room was a bit dated but nothing a few hundred quid wouldn't sort out.
Overall, the reception area and bar were good but little details like dodgy carpet on the stairs and a filthy trolly with room service food dumped on it let down the overall look.
Small things that the management probably walk past every day but fail to notice.
We would stay again when in Maidstone due to the great location."
Great Higham Barn Complex by Bloom Stays - sleeps 44 in 13 bedrooms
10/10 Excellent
"We recently booked this barn complex for a hen weekend, and overall it was a fantastic choice for a group celebration. The setting is beautiful—peaceful, scenic, and perfect for getting away from it all while still having plenty of space to relax and socialise.
The accommodation itself was ideal for a larger group. The communal areas were spacious enough for everyone to gather comfortably, whether for meals, games, or just catching up. The bedrooms were well laid out, giving a good mix of shared and private spaces, which worked really well for our group dynamic.
Having access to a swimming pool, hot tub, and even tennis facilities really made the weekend feel special and gave us plenty to do without needing to leave the property. It added a bit of luxury and fun that everyone appreciated.
Overall, it’s a brilliant venue for a hen do—relaxed, spacious, and with great amenities like the pool, hot tub, and tennis that really elevate the experience. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it to other groups looking for a memorable weekend."
"Hotel rooms were clean and a good size, but the bath was a little on the short side. Free parking even on the day you book out which was a plus. The staff on all days were very friendly and helpful. Having the Costa, MC Donald's etc on site was great too"
"We had a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable stay at The Granary at Newage Farm. The property is beautifully designed and spotlessly clean, and we both felt that every little detail had been attended to. During our three night stay, we couldn't think of a single thing that we needed that had not been provided, and our host was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local area. We both loved the fact that the host was there for us if we needed assistance, but also totally respected our privacy. We had originally intended to drive to local sites, but as we live not too far away and can visit another time, we decided to have a total detox from our routine, and spent the whole time reading, cooking lovely meals and walking in the countryside with our labradoodle, leaving the car in the drive way. Of particular note for me was the lighting in the property; I love cozy but also practical lighting, and that was exactly what we got in every single room. The beds and bedding were also gorgeous and extremely comfortable, with spectacular views from all rooms and bedrooms over the Kent countryside. The silence at night - except of course for the hooting of a local owl- was splendid as we live on a busy street at home. Silence is indeed golden. Highly recommended, and without any reservation."
"Very comfortable house, easy for 6 people, well equipped kitchen. Hospitable hosts. Is a barn so there's some spiders and flies. But overall great house. Quite area, lovely views."
"Absolutely idyllic spot, with gorgeous pastoral views across the village church and rolling hills. Cosy and warm even though we were staying in sub zero British wintertime temperatures! The character features of the building were so appealing to us as antipodeans. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and was sparkling clean, the welcome basket of biscuits and wine much appreciated . Would not hesitate to come again. "
Great Higham Oast and Cottages by Bloom Stays - sleeps 18 guests in 6 bedrooms
10/10 Excellent
"Clean, spacious house with plenty of bedrooms and well stocked kitchen.
We had 17 adults stay here which meant using 2 cottages and the house. We stayed here for Christmas and cooked at the house for 17, the kitchen was very well stocked for this with all the equipment we required for cooking. The only down side was the sofa beds were realistically only 1 person beds not doubles."
