Experience great mountain adventures when you book this comfortable 2,850 sq ft Peak 8 Lodge which sleeps up to 10! The shuttle bus stop is nearby, with only 2 stops to Peak 8 and world-class skiing. The Cucumber Gulch trails, which includes cross country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, hiking and mountain biking in the summer, are just outside the back door. The Lodge is a few steps away from the Breckenridge Nordic Center which has 50 km of trails to explore!

If there is lots of fresh snow and snow packed roads, this is a ski In home by taking Peak 8 4 O’Clock run. Exit at the Breckenridge Freeride Park sign just after the large American flag. Ski down Grandview Drive 3 blocks to the Lodge at Ski Hill Road and the Nordic Center. Best with fresh snow or rental skis.

The Neighborhood:
The home is on Peak 8 and is close to everything; conveniently located within walking distance to epic Peak 8 activities! In the winter, the slopes are easily accessible via the Breckenridge Free Ride Bus (bus stop right outside the entrance to the Nordic Center). Biking and hiking trailheads are right nearby, including the Freeride Park (just a few hundred yards away) and the Four O’Clock Trail which leads to the Reservoir.
The Peak 8 neighborhood is ideal for getting to and from town with the Breckenridge Free Ride Bus. You will have access to dining and shopping experiences in town that you won't want to miss. Take a stroll down Breck’s Main Street and you might find yourself stumbling into an art festival, discovering a beer festival, seeing historic homes built in the 1800s or enjoying local musicians playing outside as you take a scenic stroll. Main Street has year-round fun and be sure to visit Crepes a la Cart for the classic mountain crepes experience.
Outdoor adventure is easy to access from the home. Nearby trails include Cucumber Gulch, which runs right across the street! It's a lightly trafficked out and back trail featuring gorgeous wildflowers that is best explored July-September. It's a great hike for all skill levels! Further out you'll find Peaks Trail via Breckenridge, a 7.8 mile point-to-point trail that is better from April to September. It's a moderate trail, so a little better for those that want a bit more of a challenge.
Getting Around:
The shuttle bus is just 3 houses away. The home is also two stops to F lot in town where you can explore the charming and historic town of Breckenridge.

Please note that the tub is serviced between guests. Sometimes the tub is just chemically treated, but sometimes it has to be drained and refilled. Because of this, please note that the tub may be cold on your arrival and may not be hot on the first night of your stay. As such, if you wish to use it, please ensure you turn it on and turn up the temperature when you arrive. Be sure to keep the cover closed at all times when the tub is not in use!
Please keep in mind that if you plan to ski, you are responsible for verifying the ski resorts' opening and closing dates.
4-wheel drive or 2-wheel drive tires with snow chains may be necessary for safe travel to this property, even if it hasn’t snowed in a few days.

The beautiful home was perfect for grandparents, parents, and teenagers.; A wonderful location for boarders, alpine and Nordic skiers. We appreciated early check in, the hot tub and grill. Thanks for everything
Overall great experience with the host as well as the property. Very nicely appointed and decorated, comfy beds, very clean and stocked with everything you need in a prime location!
Everything was perfect, the house was ideal for our family. Parents and little kids stayed in the lower floor and others on the top floor. Hot tub and nearby hiking was a plus. Would definitely stay here again. The home was very clean.
The house is beautiful and easily accommodated our family with 6 adults and 2 small children. King sized beds in upper bedrooms were very comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped with keurig and espresso coffee makers. Very good communication with host. We will definitely stay again.
We came as a leadership team to plan the school year with meetings, PD, PLC, iMTSS etc. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We got so much more work done here than we have in the past at a hotel. The accommodations for sleeping, cooking, and access to trails was fantastic!
This home will easily accommodate a crowd! The shuttle bus is at end of street, so easy to get everywhere!
The location backs up to a wonderful preserve….lots of wildlife, trails, nature right outside your door. To have the open space off the deck is a real plus.

The loca
For this property the management company requests a picture of photo ID and some other info and then an auto-reply e-mail details when you will get charged for the remainder of the fee. The e-mail also states that you will receive details about the check-in process 3 days prior to arrival. I reached out 48 hours before our arrival to follow-up and was informed that I would receive instructions day of. Day of still no instructions and I had to reach out. We had to go to town to find something to do, because I felt a little rebuked from my prior e-mail that I was hesitant to reach out before our exact check-in time. Although their reply was fairly quick, it was very stressful not knowing if we’d be able to get into the house or not.
The house is layout is great and MANY various amenities were provided (space heaters, humidifiers, ski rack in garage, insta-pot, blender, mixer, board games). I definitely recommend it for the layout, amenities and location. The bus stop is nearby or Peak 8 is minutes drive away. Our stay would’ve been perfect except for stressing about whether we’d be able to get access to the house or have to find an alternative housing solution.
As a big family, it can often be hard to find a place that accommodates all of us but this house was absolutely perfect! Each of us had our own space, we were close to everything, and it was so clean and homey! We loved that our commute was short to everything in town. The perfect spot for our crew!
We really enjoyed our stay, the house was perfect for two families of four. We had plenty of space for everyone and an added bonus- unlimited hot water when everyone wanted to shower at the same time. We had encounters with wildlife (moose and foxes!) while being minutes from town. I loved my time sitting on the porch, reading while watching the squirrels and chipmunks and the teens loved the hot tub. The house was clean and had everything we needed.
Very quiet. The house was large which accommodated our group nicely with privacy for each family. Everything that we needed was there. The kitchen table was large enough that we had room to work on a puzzle the entire time. We had a great time!
We stayed for my sons wedding at the Breck Nordic Center. It was a great location, beautiful home and space for all to spread out. Kitchen well stocked. Comfortable beds.

This property was very spacious and comfortable. if you are going during ski season you can cross country ski right behind the house. Please note the cross country ski trails do not connect to the Breckenridge downhill skiing trails but the snowflake lift is very close and easy to take a shuttle or drive.

Had a great time, beautiful home with everything we needed. Management company responded quickly with our needs in the beginning of stay. Only issue was neighbors didn't follow the quiet time late at night which disturbed our sleep. But we had a great time and are already planning our next trip. Thank you!
This property is a STAY AWAY. Had to call multiple times for check-in information. Wasn’t provided check-in information until after time for check-in. Post mentions no air conditioning and to leave fans on and windows open. One ceiling fan. The rest are old box fans. Can’t open windows because there are no screens or the screens are in disrepair. The back door screen fell off the hinges. We contacted Local VR on the first day. They made no effort to repair any of the screens. We had to repair the back door ourself. Also, the “luxurious hot tub” had a dangerous wiring issue (mixing copper and aluminum wires) that couldn’t be repaired for TWO WEEKS. I had to fix a broken toilet myself. All I got was apologies and promises and no action. This is an absolute stay away. The worst service imaginable. Avoid any properties managed by Local VR at all costs. They will respond to this post apologizing and taking about how they strive to make your stay better. If anything goes wrong, you are absolutely stuck with the disrepair. Local VR managed properties and this property in particular is a STAY AWAY unless you want to repair the issues yourself or are ok with broken amenities, broken screens, and terrible service. Worst vacation rental experience imaginable. Will be contacting the better business bureau.
