We greatly enjoyed our stay at this log cabin. It was beautiful, spacious, and accommodating. The host was very kind and responsive each time I reached out to them. The location of the log cabin was excellent, giving us quick access to nearby grocery and activities. I highly recommend others to stay at this log cabin for their next vacation.
We loved our stay at this property! There was plenty of room for our group to spread out & the location was perfect. Easy trip to Main Street, stocked kitchen, lovely host. Thank you, we look forward to coming back!
The large, spacious house worked great for our four-generation family gathering. It was even equipped with plenty of toys and children's books for our grandkids.
We had a friend reunion of 9 adults and really enjoyed ourselves. There was plenty of room to spread out, and a well equipped kitchen to cook meals. The views are gorgeous. We spotted chipmunks and a moose out the windows during our stay. Very exciting for people from an area without either! Saundra and her husband were very attentive when we needed to reach out. Overall a lovely stay.
Bedrooms were great. Massive living room where the entire family could gather. Large and well equipped kitchen made making meals easy. Heated garage was a nice extra. The driveway can be a little tight if you have a large vehicle.
Our group of 9 had a fantastic stay! The house was clean and beautiful, with a great location near Breck. The hot tub and fire pit work great and were very appreciated. The house is well cared for and was perfect for our three night stay.
Such a fantastic home for a family get away! The open concept first floor was perfect for shared meals and game nights. Loved using the extra large hot tub and custom fire pit. Saundra was a friendly and responsive host. Thank you!
This is a wonderful house just a short way out of Breckenridge (less than 10 min and 1 min off I-70.) Everything a family needs for a great stay is provided. We stayed for the 2nd year in a row for our ski vacation & we hope to return again & again.
We absolutely loved our time in Blue River. The house was even more beautiful than the pictures show. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable beds. We can’t wait to come back
The mountain home was stunningly beautiful and perfect for my kids and grandkids. The layout is great for our group of 10. Loved having a dining table that fit all of us! So close to downtown Breck! Can’t wait to rent it again!
Great family vacation with our children and their spouses. Everyone had plenty of space with their own bathrooms. We appreciated all the kid friendly toys and equipment for our 18 month old granddaughter. Beautiful gathering spaces with amazing views and comfort. Close to downtown.
I highly recommend.
Arrived to a beautiful, custom log cabin. Slight mountain rain made access to the front door car port ideal. View of the Continental Divide and nearby lake from the large deck was awesome! More than enough room for 10 adults but more ideal for 4 couples with kids than 10 men. Great cooking kitchen and pantry near dining room and living room for staying in for great meals. The cherry on top is the fire pit and hot tub combo.
Quintessential log cabin with gorgeous Mountain Views
The log cabin was perfect for our two families with large rooms and private baths and a fun bunk room. The views were gorgeous and the ten person hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing (it did take a bit of shoveling to make our path down there as we got fresh snow each day) unfortunately the firepit was buried and unusable. The well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook meals and eat in around the large dining table. We also enjoyed playing shuffle board in the lower level. Close to town…but road and driveway are steep, 4 wheel drive, snow tires or chains were needed.
We all had a wonderful time in this well-stocked and beautifully appointed property. The hot tub was huge and we loved the fire pit just next to it. We spent hours in the kitchen and large living room next to the fireplace, playing games and working puzzles after skiing.
There was plenty of room for our group of 8, and the views were beautiful. The only difficulty we had was the steep and curvy driveway because it was snowy and icy. Definitely recommend a four-wheel drive! Definitely would recommend and stay again!
My family really enjoyed our stay in this home over the Thanksgiving Holiday. The house fit our 4 families very comfortably and the bunk room was a bonus for the kids. The kitchen had more than enough kitchware and utensils to fully cook a thanksgiving dinner. The separate ice maker was a plus. It snowed during our stay and 4 wheel drive vehicles are needed to get up the steep drive with a nice porte cochere to park under. The home is in Blue River, very easy access to downtown Breckenridge and the ski slopes. We hope to be able to visit again in the future.
We had a great stay for a full week and enjoyed all that this house had to offer. Views from the living room are fantastic and the drive in to Breck is easy and quick. We really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit in the evenings and there was more than enough space for the group to spread out. Tip for others - 4 wheel drive is an absolute must to get to the house in winter. Even when main roads are clear, the side street up to the driveway and drive itself are steep and in our experience snow covered, part of our group made the mistake of renting a minivan which has never been a problem in the past and we had to park that and rent an additional 4-wheel drive in Breck just to get to the house.
Overall, this house was pretty perfect. The location can’t be beat, it’s very private feeling. Every couple had their own space and bathroom. The two living spaces are huge and perfect for game nights, watching football, and just hanging out. There were a few things that could probably use some attention, but I wouldn’t say that would deter me from giving a 5 star rating. We would love to stay again and would recommend this to any of our friends/family.
One tip, during winter, be sure to absolutely have a 4WD vehicle.
Things that could use some attention:
- we weren’t able to access the fire pit and hot tub because the path down was pretty treacherous. The fire pit was completely buried.
- we were only provided 8 very thin towels and 4 washcloths for 8 people for 5 nights.
- there was coffee left in the pot and filter tray
- the house in general could use a good deep cleaning for cobwebs, baseboards, etc
- the snow piled up on the deck made it impossible to use the deck. It was probably 3ft high.
We hoped for a Winter Wonderland this Christmas and that is exactly what we got! The property and amenities are top notch! We had 9 people in our group. My family of 4 (Atlanta), My brother and his family of 4 (Littleton locals), and our mother (Atlanta)! We had plenty of room to relax, watch movies, play games, cook and gather for family dinners! There was plenty of space to separate too when needed.
The communication with both Sandra and Steve made everything seamless. A few minor questions during our stay were handled immediately and with great care and concern for our happiness. It was like speaking with extended family. It was clear that they truly care!
The property itself is impressive! A true log cabin style home. Hand crafted, on site, with massive beams and a solid floor plan. The home has a safe, warm, comforting, and cozy feeling while inside.
There are really no drawbacks about this property, just be prepared to shovel snow off the deck and around the hottub which is to be expected when visiting a winter wonderland. All equipment is supplied and easily accessible.
The memories that were made on this trip will truly last a lifetime. Thank you Saundra and Steve for sharing your home with our family and making our Winter Wonderland dreams come true.
We look forward to returning during different seasons to enjoy what Breck and the area have to offer. Respectfully,
The Simmons Family Vacation Crew 2023 :-)
