About this property
Stonelea in Glenlyon | Romantic escape just minutes from Daylesford
Stonelea in Glenlyon is the perfect, romantic retreat for couples looking to getaway from it all, recharge and reconnect. When you close the front door, you leave the hustle and bustle behind and slip into a dream experience of serenity and solitude. Bring a little fare and you'll have all you need to hide away from the busy world for a blissful escape.
Stonelea is an easy drive from Melbourne and just minutes by car from the vibrant centres of Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. Nestled in two acres of gardens and parkland, our idyllic property looks out over the Loddon Valley and is sanctuary to free ranging wildlife. At the right time of year, guests can expect a close view of kangaroos and a large variety of birds like wood ducks, the scarce gang-gang cockatoos, kookaburras and ibis, to name just a few.
Attached to the main house at Stonelea, our boutique holiday apartment is tasteful and luxurious. There is off-street parking close by and you come and go through your own entrance. And located as we are on the edge of the village, you will be ideally situated to explore the many attractions the area has to offer.
The apartment comprises a kitchenette with dining, a lounge room, a bedroom with king-size bed and an ensuite. Generous continental breakfast provisions are supplied for your first morning and you will find a gas log-fire and reverse-cycle air conditioner in the lounge room. The bedroom has a ceiling fan and the bed is fitted with dual electric blankets. The ensuite has a dual vanity, heated towel rails and a hardwired convection heater.
Large, north facing windows in the bedroom and lounge room offer splendid views as well as ample natural light and fresh air. Both bedroom and lounge room open onto a private verandah with a bench seat, table & chairs and a panoramic view. A gas BBQ is also provided.
The kitchenette includes an electric frypan, portable 2-burner electric cooktop, microwave, fridge, toaster & kettle, filter-coffee & plunger coffee facilities plus ground coffee, instant coffee, a tea pot and a range of teas. Saucepans, crockery, glassware, cutlery and utensils are also provided.
Continental breakfast provisions for the first morning of your stay include bread, butter, spreads, cereals, milk, fruit, yoghurt & fruit juice.
We live on-site and generally like to meet-and-greet our guests and show them through the apartment. Otherwise, we believe in privacy and you wont see us. Alternatively, there is a key safe at the front door and self-checkin is an option .

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful, relaxing stay at Stonelea. The accommodation is beautiful and the surrounding garden and land is breathtaking. It is private and secluded and still only a short drive to Daylesford. We did not want to leave and can’t wait to book our next stay.
Our second stay at Stonlea was just as satisfyingl as our first. Peter and Pam have a gorgeous property with amazing country vistas. The accomm is well equipped and luxurious with thoughtful touches by the hosts (wonderful breakkie), which made us feel instantly pamperes and cared for. Thanks Stonlea!
This accommodation is just perfect for a couple's getaway. Peter was very responsive and helped out with everything we needed. While this property is attached to their home, we had plenty of privacy. Everything you need is on hand, plenty of space and stunning views. We ate out on the deck every night with a troop? of ducks, and watched the cockies find a tree to sleep in. While close to town (9km) we would stay here out of the hustle and bustle of Daylesford again in a heartbeat@!
We stayed at Stonelea for a second time this past weekend and it was even more beautiful than we remembered. We explored more of Glenlyon as well as Daylesford and the 2 nights away were perfect. Thank you Peter for having us.
What a lovely property with terrific hosts.
Absolutely everything is thought of, breakfast provisions for 1st day, brochures on nearby activities, things on this weekend, restaurant and take away menus, massage venues, wineries etc.
Little touches really make your stay memorable with welcome chocolates, extra pillows to choose from, warm throws, electric blankets and info on all appliances available for your reference.
The communication from Peter was outstanding with helpful tips and local recommendations even before we arrived, thanks Peter and Pam, we’ll definitely be back.
Beautifully decorated and set in a delightful garden, this apartment is idyllic. Set back from the road, it is quiet and tranquil with a verandah that fronts both the living room and bedroom providing a shady sitting space to look at the view and the bird life. Will definitely come back.
We had such an amazing relaxing stay at Stonelea! This was a perfect place to chill and relax indoors when it rained heavily outdoors - sitting by the fire, watching TV, and the list goes on. The entire place was presented in an immaculate condition too.
We will definitely be coming back!!!
The accom was like a 5 star hotel, plus beautiful garden and forest view. Generous amenities provided. Quiet and peaceful surrounds, walking tracks, cafe/general store with delicious soup! Peter was a welcoming host.
Had a fabulous time at Stonelea! The property was stunning and the view in the morning was simply divine. Peter was communicative and helpful and you could tell him and his partner take pride in their property and maintaining its beauty. The accomodation was lovely and clean and with the supplied continental breakfast, we were able to eat our breakfast on the deck and take in the view! The location is a just a short drive away from daylesford, but has the benefit of being in a quiet and serene area!
We stayed for our babymoon and we couldn't ask for a better place. The view is breathtaking and the place is very nice and clean! We would definitely come back and will recommend it to our family & friends!

Beautifully situated near the Loddon river in a garden setting. Owners are very welcoming and helpful. The local General store is a must visit . Over all highly recommend. Robert K
Great accommodation, all round. Clean and tidy with everything thing you need for a relaxing stay. The icing on the cake is the picture perfect scenery, just looking out the window
Fantastic place for vacation. Stylish house with 100% cleanliness, lovely garden view, quite place and nice host. We had a memorable anniversary in this cozy place and we will definitely be back again! Thank you Peter:)
What a cute little cozy place this was. My husband and I really enjoyed the peace and quiet we experienced over the weekend.
Thankyou so much Peter & Pam for such a clean & cozy place you’ve set up for couples to get away.
Beautiful outlook over the extensive garden and distant hills and trees from the deck. The owners have clearly put in a lot of work. Left to our devices it was a lovely quiet stay. The short drive to Daylesford meant all our needs weren’t far away.
Stonelea is a lovely escape place. It's an adjoining guest house so the host will usually greet you on arrival.
Great communication, lovely provisions for breakfast and a nice relaxing place to be. It has a super soft bed and nice patio area to look out over the small pond, ducks and Hills.
A lovely escape to the country.
