The decor of this house is beautiful! Love the history, charm, and location. Look forward to coming back— room was comfortable, stylish, and relaxing!!! Loved it!!

Not only was the property and room absolutely adorable and homey but the amenities were next level amazing… the chocolate chip cookies OMG. The fireplace in the room was wonderful and kept us nice and toasty! The bathroom floor was heated and felt amazing! Bed was super comfy, it made us not want to leave! The stairs were beautiful but carrying luggage was a bit difficult, we appreciated the staff helping get bags up to our room. Not only were the cookies to die for but the fridges were stocked with delicious goodies as well (I personally enjoyed the quiche and yogurt parfait!)!!! If you are wanting to walk to all the historic sites, the Merchant is in the best location! The staff was so nice and helpful! They even allowed us to keep our luggage there while we continue to explore the town after check out. We will definitely be returning back to The Merchant for our next stay in Salem!

Google maps took us behind the property. It was a bit confusing but we called the hotel and they were very helpful. Lovely place and so convenient.

It was interesting that it was a Historical house where George Washington slept. But offered no amenities . No bar or breakfast served.
