Hosts were fantastic. Quick to respond to emails. Great communication on details. Home was spotless when I arrived. Host added some holiday decor for us as we were there at Christmas. Large yard with plenty of parking & sitting areas. Dog friendly. Quite safe neighborhood. I choose this home due to location. It is just a nice walk to the downtown area.
Annick & Sam are great hosts, they provide all the basics including toiletries and laundry supplies, very hospitable. Perfectly located on a quiet street walking distance to multiple convenience stores and a quaint coffee shop & short drive to downtown Salem. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend to everyone.
We really enjoyed our stay in North Salem. Quiet neighborhood but close to all in Salem and Beverly. Very clean older home - simple but met all our needs. Cute backyard. Highly recommended if you are looking for a family rental in this area.
The property is nicer than the pictures show. The hosts are great. Lots of necessary items on hand, excellent beds, immaculate house. We wish we had stayed long enough to enjoy the fire pit, but our stay was short.
Everything was great but the listing says it fits more people then it actually does. The place was clean the owners are friendly. I would recommend this place to another and stay again if I needed to
We used the excuse of a local family wedding to explore some of the Salem charm and this house was perfect! We walked everywhere and took in everything. The house had plenty of room (and charm). Everything was clean and well prepared and the owners were extremely helpful and accommodating.
The place was in excellent conditon at time of arrival. There were complementary amenities like bodywash and cookware.
The hosts were pleasant in communications and knowledgeable about the area.
My family had a wonderful time and a beautiful location to rest in while exploring Salem
My friends and I had a fantastic stay in Annick and Sam’s house. The owners communicated well and they were thoughtful about amenities to help us feel more comfortable. The location is a cute neighborhood within walking distance of all Salem attractions. As a group, we appreciated the many beds and parking for many cars. This was the perfect spot for a girls’ weekend! Thank you Annick and Sam!
Our group was two parents and three young adults 18-20. We had lots of space for everyone and had a wonderful time. The house was spotless upon arrival, and check in was easy. The house is a short 15 minute walk to downtown for tours and shopping. 2 full bathrooms and ample parking. Big backyard if you have little ones that want to run around. The firepit was a nice addition and we enjoyed a bonfire on our last night. Communication with owners was great. Would stay again.
The house was clean and didn't have the musty smell that many old houses do. It was a bit rough around the edges but that wasn't a problem. 3 of us stayed, so there was plenty of room, plenty of clean towels blankets and linens. Due to unforseen host family problems, it took a while to get a response from them when we had an issue, but they tried to rectify the problem as kindly
My wife, parents, sister and I went to Salem for a few days for a fall getaway. This home was perfect. It’s in a fantastic neighborhood that is extremely close to the heart of Salem. You could easily walk to where all the main shops, restaurants and attractions are. Driving there is very easy too as the house provides ample parking. If you want to stock up on groceries there are lots of store near by to do so. There is also a cool vintage toy site called Had That about a minute walk from the house.
The owners Sam and Annick are amazing. Extremely friendly and very accommodating. They went over and above to make sure our stay was perfect. The wife and I already plan on coming back next year and this is the first house we will look for when we book our trip.
Hosts Annick & Samuel are very communicative and helpful. The Neighborhood is lovely.
We meet the neighbor who was very welcoming and told us all about her Halloween Wedding.
The hosts were very responsive and have plenty of space at their home. The several off-street parking spots and the house is very close to all the things in the center of Salem via car or by walk. First floor bathroom was very helpful with my 93 year old grandfather. I would definitely recommend this house for anyone looking to stay in the area.
OMG we had So much fun and are looking forward to returning! Sam and Annick were the best! We got into town early and we able to get into the property early that was awesome! We got a welcome gift left on the porch witch LOL was so amazing! I will be glad to refer this property to all my friends and family! Property is just enough outside of town to not be in all the hustle and bustle for Halloween and you can even see the fireworks from the House Halloween night! Loved our stay!
Wow. What a nightmare. From the moment we drove up to the property w/an abandoned broken down vehicle parked at the front door, to when we walked into the 90 degree house (which didn't get below 77), to the point we were told to leave by 10am rather than 12 by the cleaning crew, this entire stay was a huge regret. Every issue we brought to the hosts' attention was either dismissed or outright lied about. No working A/C on the main floor of the home, no fire or carbon monoxide alarms installed, only sheer curtains on the main floor (and that was only on windows that actually had coverings), people let on the property without notice on multiple accounts. Regarding the heat, the hosts told us to open windows at night (no thanks), and sent a message at 11:30 am one day when we were sightseeing to offer to bring an A/C that afternoon (although claimed it would take HOURS to install). I didn't get the message due to no wifi where we were, but replied immediately upon our return to the house in the early evening. Didn't hear from them until night w/an excuse they had dinner plans and couldn't come. The fenced yard is a joke as there are gates with no latches, the neighbors have cameras pointed at the property from behind and the side which is invasive. The "hands-off" approach is also a lie as the host admitted her husband drove by and watched us at the end of our stay. How many other times were we watched??? There have to be better rentals in Salem. We are in discussion w/VRBO.
My family and I had a very great experience staying at this location. Sam and Annick were very welcoming towards us and even contacted us prior to our arrival to make sure they had enough beds ready for the number of people staying. Although we had a few unplannd events prior to our check-in, they were very accomodating to these unexpected changes. The house had everything we needed and more for a comfortable stay with plenty of space, linen, and toiletries for all seven of us. The house had a large driveway that could accomodate 3+ cars and was located in a quiet neighborhood making it easy for anyone to get a restful sleep after a long day of walking around. My family and I visited during Winter time and it just so happened to have rained the day of our check in, which is an unfortunate way to start a vacation, but to our lovely surprise the home was already nice and warm when we arrived and we were able to relax after our five hour road trip. As this house is located in the heart of Salem and close to Boston there is a ton of things to do and visit and Annick was extremely helpful in recommending a few things that my family and I would enjoy. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend everyone else to stay here as well!
A group of seven of us stayed.at the house. Everything was just as promised. The beds were very comfortable. Having two full baths was a plus! Location was close to town and very quiet. There were plenty of sheets and towels. The owners were very helpful and gave us a full and detailed tour of the house when we arrived. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends and relatives. A+
If you are visiting Salem this is the absolute PERFECT place to stay!! the owners are so kind and ah-mazing!! they have everything you would need to take care of your family or friends, the owners will go out of their way to make sure you are happy. You could not ask for better hosts. the house is a 12 min walk to down town Salem and tourist attractions. the yard is perfect for lighting a fire in the pit and enjoying the stars. There is an award winning restaurant on the way to town (you walk right by it) that has great breakfast food and the people there are so friendly. Plenty of space in this house!! We will most assuredly be going back with lots of family!!
Annick and Samuel were great. Their property was as described and a very short walk for the heart of Salem. Very good owner and property, we will definitely be back
The reviews are all accurate, we met the hosts and they were very friendly - and then left us alone to enjoy our time there. There is a great back yard area which will be fun to use for a fire once they are allowed and it's cool enough.
Very easy check-in process. House was clean and had everything we needed for our long weekend. Very convenient location if you like Salem. Easy to walk into town. Host was friendly and so helpful, great communication.
