Explore the Garfagnana region, a mountainous area with its characteristic stone villages and many attractions for sports, hiking and art lovers. In the surrounding area, you can take beautiful walks in the woods and along streams and visit the Grotta del Vento cave, among others. Rafting and canyoning along the Turrite and Lima torrents is an adventure, as is visiting castles and fortresses such as the Verrucole Fortress, which also organises events and themed exhibitions. Numerous culinary, musical and entertaining events and markets take place in the surrounding area. Castelnuovo della Garfagnana and Barga are well worth a visit. The beautiful city of Lucca with its imposing city walls and monuments is well worth a day trip, as are the beaches of Viareggio.
