Rustic Log Style Chalet in the Heart of Gros Morne National Park!

  • Imagine. Enjoying your morning coffee while savoring the breathtaking view of the majestic Gros Morne/Long Range Mountains.

    Woody Point is a beautiful and historic town nestled in the heart of Gros Morne National Park on the western coast of Newfoundland. It has a beautiful waterfront with many heritage buildings and in 2010 was designated a Registered Heritage District. There are numerous excellent hiking trails in the area, some within walking distance.

    Our chalet is a mere ten-minute walk from the "downtown" area which offers local restaurants, coffee shops and a water taxi. It is a spacious, clean and comfortable two-story log-style chalet with a full wrap-around deck. The unencumbered view of Gros Morne Mountain and Bonne Bay is simply breathtaking! The sunroom is located on the second floor facing the water. It is a great place to curl up, watch the sun rise or to sit back and enjoy the view at any time of the day. If you are lucky you may see whales, porpoise or tuna swimming in the bay. Sometimes a bald eagle will fly by or a moose will meander across.

    This same spectacular view can be enjoyed from the wrap-around deck or while cooking on the stainless-steel BBQ.

    There is a wide variety of books on hand so feel free to pick one and do some reading.

    Both washrooms have been renovated! The main floor washroom features a walk-in shower and the second-floor bath has a tub/shower combo.

    The kitchen was also recently renovated and is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, dishes, pots & pans, coffee maker and coffee grinder. The comfortable eating area is located next to the kitchen.

    With four cozy bedrooms that will comfortably sleep eight, it is perfect for a couples/family retreat or a romantic getaway. Three bedrooms have queen beds, the fourth bedroom (located on the main floor) has 2 single beds.

    The living room has a cozy leather couch, love seat & chair. It also has an electric fireplace and flat screen TV.

    Laundry facilities is located on the main floor. There is also a clothesline outside on the deck if you prefer.

This rustic chalet cottage came exactly as advertised. All the comforts you would expect and super clean. The views from upstairs sitting room were panoramic overlooking Bonne Bay. Close to the Table Lands and a quick 1 hour drive to Western Brook Pond that provides spectacular views of the fiords and mountains. Hosts Shawn/Sharon were very responsive and most helpful. Large comfortable cabin, and very well stocked in general. Several spots to relax and enjoy the view, especially for sunrises. Hosts were very quick to respond and answered all questions. Would definitely recommend the spot, fantastic stay!

This is my 3rd time staying at Shawn & Sharon's property and once again, it exceeded all expectations!The house is equipped with anything you can think of to ensure your stay comfortable and enjoyable...from every kitchen utensil you would ever need, to extra quilts and blankets so you can cozy up on the porch or by the fireplace to bathroom amenities that would rival any hotel room. And the view, ah, the view...there aren't enough adjectives to describe the view of Bonne Bay and Gros Morne Mountain.This will always be my first choice to stay whenever I return to Woody Point...

Woody Point Cottage

This is a lovely rustic house with all the amenities, everything exactly as in the listing. The view here is breathtaking, I would highly recommend it for groups or families. We especially enjoyed our time in Woody Point while hiking at Grose Morne.

Absolutely amazing!

Shawn and Sharon have a gem of a home. It is beautiful, comfortable, spotlessly clean and full of charm. There is everything you could possibly need or want, including a beautiful sun room on the top floor looking over Bonne Bay. It was quiet and peaceful but also close enough to walk into town. We loved our stay.

Best house with a spectacular view

My husband and I had one of our best vacations ever here. The house has the most beautiful view of the bay. Plenty of room for a large family. The location of the house is also perfect for all the day trips and hikes you can enjoy. Woody Point has restaurants and shops and we enjoyed eating meals over looking the bay. If you want a great vacation off the grid this is the place to go!
