"The hotel staff was very friendly upon arrival...like they were glad that we were there. The check in was easy. We were greeted with a delicious chocolate chip cookie right away. The room was spacious and clean and had all of the amenities. The only disappointing thing was the coffee maker which was a lot of hotels are going to. The breakfast was really nice with eggs, cheese, sausage and ham! There was also cold cereal, fruit and waffle irons. I have to say, the pool and hot tub were some of the better we have experienced...not just a dang room with a pool so the hotel could achieve another star. It had high ceilings, lots of windows and was adjacent the lobby, not down at the end of some long hall. The beds were super comfortable with 3 nice fluffy pillows. The location is great. We loved our stay and will stay again in the future."

"Location was great, right on the bike trail. Allowed the bikes to be put in her garage at night with electric outlets. Breakfasts were great. First night set on front porch and was great. Then the bees took over the next 2 days, it is just the season for them. The room and bathroom were very nice. We recommend this B&B to others"

"it was very interesting staying here. our first thought was that we should hold a se'ance, and by no means was it scarey to stay in, just sort of the vibe when first arriving and entering the home, would live to dig into the history .. i would have preferred some type of window covering ( no curtains/shades, except for the bathrm window) on the windows. There was also the discovery of no inside door handle on one of the bdrm doors, which i thought to be a hazard as the door opened in and could not be opened from inside if shut completely. and also a air conditioning unit, that stated not to be plugged in, as it would blow a fuse, my thought would be to just remove it. The house was very clean, beds were comfy, kitchen well stocked. unfortunately, we didn't have alot of time to check out the surrounding property, but lots of pretty flowers and natural Prairie grasses around the home. very buggy outside , dont forget bug spray. very close to canoe/kayak launching. I would definitely stay again."

"You check in online as there is no staff there to check you in. I was sent a link to access for a check-in and get my room code, but I could not access that link. I did call the number they provided and the lady was very helpful and checked me in on the telephone and gave me my code. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable a coffee pot out in the lobby, but it did not work so that was disappointing that we couldn’t get coffee in the morning, but the gas station was right next-door if we wanted to get anything. Very handy as we needed gas in the morning before we left on our next trip. Was not a very cheap stay for having no staff to check you in and no continental breakfast or coffee."

"We stayed here as we were having a family reunion nearby. The place was spotless and the attention to every detail was great. Little touches like having a small flashlight by each bed so if you have to get up in the middle of the night you can get around. A really unique chicken themed place. Many creative touches are everywhere. A lot of thought, time and effort went into decorating this house. Its reasonably close to Lanesboro, which offers access to water activities on the Root river, and bicycle paths. A true gem of a place."

"We had a wonderful time with our sons! The house was very spacious, and we really appreciated that everyone had their own room. It was a great setup for our family.A few things that may be helpful for future guests: the Keurig coffee maker wasn’t working, although we were able to use the other coffee maker. A few of the kitchen outlets were loose and may need some attention. We also enjoyed grilling, although the grill needed to be cleaned before we could use it, and the propane tank was empty, so we exchanged it in town.The dumpster is located fairly close to the house, which did attract quite a few flies around the door. We purchased fly strips during our stay to help with that.Overall, we had a great stay and really enjoyed the spacious house and our time together as a family. I hope these notes are helpful for the owners in making an already enjoyable property even better for future guests."
