"We had a wonderful stay at the Lobster Shack! The Tiki hut and outside grilling area with the marble countertops is beautiful and enjoyable and is where you want to hang. The canal is 17Ft deep, very clear most days with the tides, many fish schooling through and possible a manatee might grace through but they are quite. If you do bring a boat the boat launch is less than a mile away. The access to the Gulf or Atlantic is so assessable. Being seasoned keys area renters you can't beat the location for a nice slower pace area compared to your bigger keys like Marathon/Islamorada.Big pine key offers grocery store,phamacy/drug store and more.You'll sure see rosters, hens and chicks in the parking lot but if your lucky you'll see a key deer there also! Bucks are so cute. There is no "fast food" in the direct area but there is Trionos Taco, little yellow food tuckin the Hertz parking lot across from the Keys cafe(which is great also) and it is a must try/ have, Clint has great prices and his tacos or any of his food is nothing compared to a taco bell If you book we hope you enjoy your stay as much a we have.. "The photos of this beautiful property don’t lie!! Spacious, impeccably clean and comfortable. This home was perfect for hosting our children and grandchildren…lovely refreshing pool (bigger than expected)…fishing for tarpon right off the back yard. Incredible sunrise views off the balcony to start our day was delightful. Watching wildlife in the mangroves just off shore was a daily experience; including an occasional visit from a family of Key Deer. John was very quick to respond to any of my queries and had great local suggestions about restaurants, fishing, etc. The bikes and paddle boards were a bonus: as was the ice machine. Loved every minute in this beautiful property."

"We recently spent the month of February at Castaway on the Keys and the property is wonderful. The house is bright, spacious and well equipped. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are great. The entire house is clean and well maintained. The outside area is resort-like, with a heated pool, plenty of pool chairs, and great water front views. The upper and lower deck/patio areas are large and provide ample space for lounging, with two gas grills, ice machine and sink. We have spent a month in the Keys for the past six years, each in a different house in a different Key, and this is our favorite property - by far. The communication with the property's agent, iTrip, was timely and informative."
