The Bay Dune Cottage: Your Own Private Beach + Cozy Backyard Fire Pit

  • The Bay Dune is a red cottage on Tracadie Bay in Blooming Point, PEI, with your own private deeded beach just steps away and a cozy fire pit tucked into the backyard. Spend your days on red sand steps away or just a minutes' drive to the white sand at Blooming Point Beach. Evenings are made for the screened porch, watching the light change over the water, or gathering around the fire pit under the stars.

    Inside, you'll find three bedrooms sleeping 6, a full kitchen, and a wood stove for cool nights. A full bathroom has a window overlooking the back yard and a shower with amazing pressure and fresh hot water straight from the well.

    Beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas are provided, so you can walk straight from the door to the sand. Across the bay, Finn Folk serves some of the Island's best fish tacos, and downtown Charlottetown is only 20-25 minutes away.

The location was fantastic.Very close to a very large north shore beach that is sparsely attended relative to the other north shore beaches while being under 30 minutes to Charlottetown. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable while still feeling like a cottage. Big fire pit was also enjoyable.

We had a wonderful stay at The Bay Dune Cottage. Peaceful, quiet, with view of water and beautiful sunsets. The cottage had everything we needed and the owners placed many thoughtful details throughout. The cottage was very clean, beds comfortable, the decor was lovely. My husband and I especially enjoyed the screened porch. The owners were great at communicating and let us feel that we can contact them for any reason. Make sure to have bug spray for mosquitoes. We would be happy to return.

The cabin was spacious, comfortable and clean. It made a great place to rest and recover from our sightseeing. The screened in porch was particularly useful as the mosquitoes were so bad this year that we were unable to spend any time outside, other than rushing in and out of our car. We heard from many that this had been a bad year all over the province for mosquitoes.
