Great getaway location. Close to a variety of experiences with convenient full service grocery store, restaurants and shops. Nice size property and accommodations.
This is a great property - it is very clean and has a beautiful outdoor porch surrounded by trees. It's very close to all the restaurants, etc., while still giving you the feeling of being secluded. Great place!!!

We truly had a great experience at Lakey Gap lodge. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Thank you Carolina Mornings.
From Varela’s family
What a lovely home. Situated in a quiet neighborhood that is very close to downtown Black Mountain. Fit our family of 7 very comfortably. We are frequent VRBOers and usually bring our own supplies (shampoo, body wash, dish soap, etc..) Lakey Gap Lodge had it all for a nice stay. Beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean. The driveway is steep and a 4 wheel drive vehicle is a most in the winter.
The house is a beautiful A frame located within a few minutes drive of Black Mountain. But it is in a secluded mature quiet mountain neighborhood. The layout of the house is great for larger families. However, we encountered issues with the power, two power outages within two days lasting at least two hours each time. Also some of the furniture was overly worn, so too deep and not the most comfortable. But the views and proximity to Blk Mtn made it a pleasant stay overall.
The property worked very well for our family’s three night stay. It was clean and in great condition and more than enough space for our family of four and chocolate lab! The hot tub was also very clean, which is not always the case, so we appreciated that. We actually saw a mama bear and two cubs walking down below from up on the deck, so that was a treat! The only things I would change are that the mattresses were all pretty hard, the pillows were way too soft, there were no board games in the house, and we had to create a Roku account just to get the basement tv to work. But other than that, we really enjoyed our stay! The location is so close to the interstate and downtown Black Mountain, but still felt quiet and private!
We loved absolutely everything about our stay in Black Mountain. We are regulars and this stay at this property was by far the best! We highly recommend this property and company. Incredible!
Spacious, nicely kept home in a pretty neighborhood with lots of trees. Every convenience. Comfortable beds and couches. Gorgeous wrap around porch with hot tub after all the hiking. We loved it!
We enjoyed our stay would have loved to have access to simple things, such as aluminum foil, ziploc bagels, and wood. I have never stayed at a BRBo without access to some of these simple things. There was also no containers for leftovers.
We thought the house was clean, and it was in a great location.
Lakes gap lodge is a beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood. Even though it's located in a neighborhood there was plenty of privacy and beautiful views from the large deck and hot tub. There is a very nice hike in the neighborhood a short walk from the driveway. The home was clean and well stocked for cooking. Home is very easy to find and access. Loved all the space it provided for all family members. Also had a lovely fire place for those chilly nights. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us!
Overall the cabin is very nice. We ran into some issues that were not resolved, such as the front door handle falling off (we were told they would try to come fix it, but they never did). The driveway is very steep and it's difficult to turn around if you have more than 2 cars parked. Small issues, such as the chain pull for the fan in the main room missing and there being only one remote for 2 televisions were annoying, but did not detract from our experience. The gas heater in the basement also did not work, despite following the instructions that were on the wall. Overall, the cabin is very nice and makes a good weekend getaway, though I wish there was more done to make sure everything was in working order.
Overall, we enjoyed the property. It was clean and, despite feeling secluded, was very near grocery shopping, restaurants, and stores. The maintenance number was useless. I texted shortly after arriving--within the hours the number was supposed to be manned--and got an automated reply about not being available because it was a holiday weekend. Further, when the holiday was over (July 4th), no one ever contacted me about the kitchen sliding door that we had to work on to get it closed, the nonfunctional ceiling fan in the main room (there was a wall switch that operated the light, but the chain that operated the fan was missing, so that switch didn't work), and the dire need of WD-40 for almost every door. We didn't expect to be washing bed linens on vacation, but the washer didn't have the capacity to start a load with all of them, as instructed, so we had to do one complete load before starting the second on the way out. Oh, yeah -- this is the second survey I've received on the property, the first being directly from the rental company. I got no reply to that one, so I'm not sure anyone cares about their customers there.
Cabin is big enough to host two families, yet small enough to still feel cozy. Neighborhood is very quiet. Driveway takes a bit of coordination if more than one vehicle is being used. Overall we loved it and would stay here again!
The beauty of the cabin was actually undersold. The cabin is perfectly situated on the mountain and affords great views. This place is very quiet and we really enjoyed the stay. Would definitely come back.
We really enjoyed the property immensely. Perfect location. Perfect place. If we were to suggest anything it would be one more armchair in the living room for easier seating but we managed perfectly. We loved it! Every part of it.
We loved everything about our stay except for the fact that we didn’t book it long enough. The property was as described. The location was perfect and it was close to all the local hiking trails. Although it was just my husband and me this property for this trip it would have been perfect for the entire family.
