"A lovely cottage and a safe garden for our dog. We had a relaxing stay and the beach nearby is great with beautiful sunsets, and a bonus of a cafe on the sea front. Limited off lead dog walks from the cottage, but the coastal walk is ok if you don't mind walking your dog on a lead. The Minors Arms, a two minute walk from the cottage, is dog friendly, but does not serve food."

"Stylish cottage that manages to be remote and well connected both at the same time. It’s a little bit out of Silecroft which has a lovely beach and beach cafe but not much else ( even the lovely local pub doesn’t serve food). But on the other hand it’s not far to Millom which is pretty well served, including a decent sized Tesco and also, being just off the A595, is convenient for all the western and southern Lake District. Hot tub is in a private little courtyard and kitchen is perfect for two with an induction hob with proper pans, not just those cheap ‘all purpose pans’ that allegedly work with induction hobs but don’t do it very well. In other words nothing is done on the cheap so not bad value."

"What a perfect place to stay. Room was large and comfortable. Emiko was a lovey host full of great suggestions on what to do locally. Breakfast was very tasty but the real added extra was the on site bar with what seemed like 100s of different whiskeys which Emiko was very knowledgable on and happy to help you find one to enjoy. We will be back. "

"I loved my stay at Shore Meadow in the snow. It was warm and cosy if a little tired. The beds were very comfy, I did not want to get up, I had the bedroom with the fantastic view or Black Combe, it was covered in snow right down to the bottom of the valley. Silecroft beach in January was a delight for the dogs. It was not possible to go very far into the Western Fells a wonderful place to be. I only have two negative points could the kitchen have a pair of kitchen scissors please? the rug from the dining room into the living room is a trip hazard."

"Beautiful cottage with a lot of space outside, a seating area by the stream, a great location near Millom and other Lake District locations, and a hot tub! (Note: The hot tub use is an additional £40 flat fee, which was unmentioned on Hotel.com listing, but is on the official Sykes Cottage page)"

"Annie's Cottage was well equipped, clean and comfortable. We were given very clear instructions throughout. The only drawback is the lack of outside space and the inability to use the back entrance. As we were there to visit friends and family, this did not affect us unduly but might be an issue for future users."
