Malmaison Birmingham
Hotels.com offered an upgrade to a suite which I accepted and was confirmed in writing. Upon check-in was told that Hotels.com frequently do this even if the property is fully booked. Very disappointing. Room was ok. Quiet. Awful smell emanating from the toilet though.

The Arden Hotel & Leisure Club
Good size room with comfy beds and nice in room extras (hot chocolate and biscuits). Very convenient for NEC venues (short walk). Free parking and pool/jacuzzi a bonus. 2pm check in have plenty of time to relax before evening concert at pulse arena. Would stay again.
