Jack Creek Modern, Ski-In/Ski-Out in Moonlight Basin
Ski-In/Ski-Out Modern Luxury in Moonlight Basin
At Jack Creek Modern Mountain Retreat, your ski day starts at the front door. Step outside, cross the street, and drop straight down to the Jayhawk lift. You can also head out from the back deck onto a groomed trail that glides down to the Madison Base Area, where lifts, ski school, and the One&Only Gondola are waiting. After a day on Big Sky’s legendary terrain, cruise down Cinnabar to Madison Base and ride Jayhawk back up to the home’s doorstep. This newly built, custom four-bedroom, four-and-a-half bath home in Big Sky’s Moonlight Basin pairs effortless slope access with striking modern design, all in a private setting with room for up to ten guests.
Step inside to an open floor plan where the living, dining, and kitchen spaces flow together, framed by floor-to-ceiling glass and panoramic views of the Spanish Peaks. Plush furnishings invite the whole group to gather after the last run, while the professional-grade kitchen keeps the chef in the conversation with mountain views as a backdrop. The dining table seats eight, with four more at the breakfast bar. Step out to the main-level decks for an evening by the fire pit, with a gas grill, patio heaters, warm outdoor lighting, and sweeping vistas.
The main-floor Primary King Suite is a private sanctuary with a fireplace, flat-screen TV, en-suite bath, and its own deck for quiet mornings above the mountains. The lower level offers three more bedrooms, each with its own bath, plus a second living room for reading or a kids’ hangout. Outside, the lower deck features a second fire pit and a hot tub large enough for the whole crew, the perfect place to soothe ski legs under the stars.

The home was stunning in its design and decor and the kitchen was absolutely stocked with tools and spices and everything you could imagine to find! The surround sound throughout the house was a really nice touch and we really enjoyed the wood burning fireplace once we got the habit down of setting a 55 minute timer to reset the fan system to keep the smoke from filling the house. The ski-in ski-out access wasn’t entirely accurate IMO. We had to walk down the street and cross the main road to access the cat track to take to Madison 8. Catching the small lift back home took a “miss” to get it right (also had to take off skis to cross the street and get up to the loading zone for the lift). So I think ski-in ski-out is a bit generous (note: we were visiting during an unseasonably warm week and the melt was definitely a factor in the number of times we had to remove our skis and walk). I would love to have said we slept well but the pillows were pretty thin and meek. The master bed was somewhat comfortable but not what my expectation would be for the level of elegance elsewhere within the house. More attention to the sleep experience would be an easy improvement. The only other negative (and the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars for cleanliness) is the base boards in the living area and bathrooms had a lot of cumulative hair and dust, which was pretty gross to see - especially throughout the bathrooms. The management company did apologize for this oversight.
